B-Series Engine

Would a B-series engine fit in our Civic? If so, are they goin to make B-Series mounts for our Civic?

yes it would fit, it wouldn't be legal (cant put old motor in new car) but it would fit. Hasport said they are currently working on a mount kit

The donor engine should be newer than the car it is going into, among other things.. (i'm guessing the B series motor would have to be from a 2002 Model car)
I wanted to fit a 4AGE into my Toyota Paseo earlier (the 20V Blacktop version makes about 180HP!!) but couldn't, as the shop refused to get the motor for me, once they realized i was gonna use it on the street.

The laws in California are the most strict, and usually adopted in sort by states that do inspections.

In California, it is illegal to put an engine that is older than the car it is going into. Yes, you could put a 2001 Integra motor into a 2001 Civic. But since they did not produce any B-Series cars in 2002, you would not be legal. Now some states do not conduct smog checks, therefore you would not be illegal.

That is just one of the reasons I left California for nicer climates.

In Illinois is it legal as long as you can pass emissions for the year of the cars body. I have a 2001 Civic, so I can drop as old of an engine as I like as long as it is up to 2001 standards.

aznsmtboy is on a distinguished road
since the original poster is from cali....we were going on laws that are geared toward California....each state has adopted their own laws when it comes to thing like emmissions.
