How Fast Is a 89 Camry Auto?
Well I bought a Civic and this guy I know keeps dissing me. I told him I wasn't looking for speed, I liked the looks, mpg, resale, price, space, etc. etc. you guys know, but he just keeps pushing it everyday.
Everytime I add something like a new H4 light, taillight, gauge.. he keeps saying "I'd never get a Civic".. "What do you expect? it's a Civic".. "Impreza's better".. "My uncle has this".. "Civic's slow".. and I keep telling him "I had my reasons for choosing the Civic, I never said my car is fast, leave me alone" and he'd say s**t like "You thought Civic's better than an Impreza? You're stupid"
Crap like that... but the thing is, this guy drives a 89 Camry... We both drive auto. He keeps telling me how he would've got a BMW or Impreza WRX. (YES! I explained to him there's a difference in price there). I think when he pulls this kinda crap on me again, I'm just gonna say "too bad your car's slower than the shitty Civic eh?"
BUT BEFORE I DO THAT : Can an auto Civic EX 4dr outrun a 89 Camry? The 89 Camry's still when it's small, I dunno what engine it's running.

With that out of the way, my first car was a 1991 4cyl automatic Camry. Man was that thing ***** out slow (although I did beat my friends automatic 1996 Celica). I garuntee anything that runs a 17 will walk away from it hands down.

Rep Power: 0 i raced an older camry on the highway once. he had tinted windows, some bulbs changes on sides markers and stuff, and at least a muffler.
i pulled up by him and shook my head adn went for it. i heard him trying, but to no avail.
