I bet that rim's sunk in many potholes to be hurting like that. Either that or the guy just lost control while accelerating, and crack it on the curb. Easy scapegoat for trying to cover up speeding-induced accidents. Poor fella.

exactly my point. A rim slamming onto a curb at 20mph doesn't break it apart like that. By the way it broke, it looks like the rim hit the curb on it's side (parallel to the curb). That's the only way the donut of the rim would pop off from it's center hub. Otherwise, it would have just been a bend or a crack in the rim (if it hit it head-on).

And how do you leave tire marks on the road like at going 20mph? The ground was supposedly wet. 20mph, wet road, tire marks, don't add up.

Still sucks for the bmw though.
