German Rice. The German Jetta is called the Bora. However, that car doesn't have the space for the German plates, so it's just someone who wanted to badge their car with the other name and the German flag. It's an American VR6, no different than a RSX owner putting "Integra" on his car.

Whats wrong with putting a "bora" on a Jetta? If it's originally named that, why not put it on? I see ppl puttin red Honda emblems on their Integra's and RSX.
I don't really see anything RICE about that.
No it is different when one puts Integra Type R emblem on his Civic DX, but Jetta = Bora and seeing the German flag, guy just wants to be more European.

I see nothing wrong with it... Provided it's similarly equipped over there. Since the VR6 can be had in Germany, there's nothing wrong with that. Just like I wouldn't see anything wrong with re-badging an RSX to a Honda Integra... until the Type R logos went on.. then you better back it up.
German rice is making a VW logo out of a V and an upside down M-Power logo (the BMW flying 'M' logo)

As you can tell from my sig, I've had a VW and am still in the "scene". Badging your car as a Bora is not "rice". I hate that word and I hate how people just throw it aournd because they are ignorant. First its all OEM, and second its not something it isn't. Oh, and you can get the euro bumper for euro plates. I highly doubt the Bora you saw was real...there is no point in importing one as they are the same here...except they get some nice diesel models.
VW names their cars after meteorlogical names for "wind".
For instance the MKIII Jetta was called a Vento
the MKIV Jetta is a Bora
Passat means "winds of change" (or somthing similiar)
and of course Scirroco and Corrado...more weather related names
and Gulf winds inspired the Germanic spelling...Golf...or known in the US as the Rabbit(early days)

NOTHING rice about that. It's like doing JDM conversions, the car originally the way it's supposed to be in Japan. Just like Jetta conversions to what it is in Germany.
It'll be like if I bought a Mazda 6 and badged it Atenza cuz that's what it REALLY is in Japan and that's where the car was originally designed and built.

I spent nine years in Germany and never got used to Germans. If this is a German guy believe me the only reason he done that is to show that he is an stuck up German. It may not look like much but believe me I know Crowts. Notice how he also had to show his little German flag.
