5 speed, because of better gas mileage, 1000 bucks cheaper, more fun to drive, and it makes you a better driver because you're more aware of what your car is doing. Plus, you can rev the hell out of your and not have to worry about an automatic trasmission shifting or not. Finally, they're more powerful, and you can controll the power better.

Automatic.. because it takes me an hour to get to school and work everyday and I hate stop and go traffic. Give me my coffee and let me drive, and not have to hassel with anything else!
And about talking on your cell phone.. I hate seeing people talk on their cells phones and drive, or at least.. their attempt to drive, put the damn thing away. There have been too many unnecessary accidents because of people like you. Not to gripe or anything, that is just one of my serious pet peeves.

That doesn't matter, I drive my car most of the time with one hand.. whatever is comfortable and what the driving conditions are. It isn't whether or not you can drive with one hand or whatever, its how you drive when you get on your phone because you're so busy blabbing away on the phone you don't notice how stupid you drive. It is so irresponsible.

I have an auto. I wish I had a manual sometimes to play with the gears and feel like im driving the car more, but i also like just being able to step on the gas and go. Plus my dad told me that when I burn the clutch out he's not paying for it when he bought the car. I'm poor and in college so I guess thats a good excuse too. My auto civic suits my needs and everybody loves how it looks.

I went with an automatic. I've had very little experience driving a manual since everyone in my family now has an auto. if i were more into performance i would consider a manual, but I am not much of a power person. I can certainly respect it though
as far as gas mileage with my auto, the EX pretty much gets the same gas mileage whether it's an auto or manual. i've always managed about 37-39mpg with all the highway driving i do. after i got my intake it went downhill.. i cant stop revvin it up, lol. it depends on your lifestyle whether you prefer an auto or manual. i like to be relaxed when i drive, let the car do the work. having that free hand comes in handy at times.

My car is auto, coz my mom paid for it and didn't want me street racing. Man, I shouldn't have let her see parts of TFATF before we went car shopping. And they sort of bought me this car to keep me from buying the early 90s 5.0 Mustang 5-speed I was gonna buy with my own money.
I prefer manual though. I drive my dad's car every chance I get... mmm... 6-speed...
That gas mileage argument is crap though. Do you think you really drive it like they do in those tests? They take those ratings going downhill in neutral with the a/c off, the spare tire taken out, and an anorexic chick driving.

One of the main reasons why I got the Civic was to get rid of that damn automatic in my other car. Couldn't stand driving an auto. My first car was a manual - even against what my parents wanted because neither one of them could drive a stick well. I basically had to teach myself, which was easy, and I loved it, still do. The number of automatics in the country make me wanna puke. I don't understand how so many people actually go through life never learning to drive a stick..... something like 80% of new cars in Europe are sold with manuals, but in the ol' US of A its the opposite. IMO, the only time auto is good is in stop n go, but I avoid that as much as possible, its such a waste of gas anyway. I'd rather drive 50 miles out of the way on an empty road then sit in traffic. At least then I get to use my gas for driving instead of sitting. Of course that's the point of the Civic Hybrid... but anyway, I'm gettting off the subject...... MANUALS RULE and AUTOMATICS DROOL!!!!!
