Rep Power: 357 Ford stoped building the contour. You'll laugh when you hear what they turned it in to...........The Ford Escape!!!!! they turned a car in to an SUV. its the same chassis and drivetrain. their reasoning is that they stand to make more $$$ selling an SUV rather then a decent car. (The contour actually made a decent British Touring car called the Mondeo)

Rep Power: 373 I used to work for Ford...back in 97 when the SVT Contour was released.....For speed and cornering....the Contour is a great car. For reliability and quality of build the car is junk. This is why they discontinued the contour.

Rep Power: 560 i havent driven the svt contour...altho i must admit i used to want one.
what ended that was when i drove the regular contour. that car feels so plastic and sluggish its not even funny.
im sure the svt is a little better, and maybe better handling etc. but they most likely didnt change the interior much, so the car is still really plasticky and uncomfortable. i wouldnt recomend it.

Rep Power: 373 The backseat is very small and cramped....The rear doors do not open fully either, its wierd. If your a little heavy and you try to get in the back seat, you are going to find that you may have a hard time getting into the car. The cars interior is all plastic and very cheaply made. Although the car is European it is still made by Ford, and that isnt a good thing. Someone said the seats are leather, that is part true....The car has leather seating...this means that only where your butt and your back are, are leather. The rest of the seat is Pleather.....Basically Vinyl. If I had the choice of getting the SVT contour and any other car in its class, I would get the other car....
