Hrm someone answer me this ^^

What did vin diesel in fast and the furious mean "...instead of double clutching like you should", I know how to double clutch when downshifting, but isn't "granny shifting faster than double clutching" when racing ? I dunno so don't flame or quote me, explain to me what it's suppose to mean

im probably wrong on this, but i think with double clutching, you get the rpms higher therefore more torque. with granny shifting you have to roll the rpm meter which wastes time and doesnt provide as much power? haha.. i dont know.. im "taking a stab in the dark"

double clutchin is when your about to change gears and you step on the clutch to get the shifter into neutral and step on the clutch again to get into gear. basically steppin on the clutch 2 times for each gear change. unless u have a really powerful car this is basically useless. the reason y you would want to double clutch is so when you are in neutral you can gas it to keep the RPMS within your powerband then shift. this utilizes the power of the engine so when ur done shift and let go of the gas u have instant power. when u "granny shift" aka hold clutch in from gear to gear, your RPMs drop and u leave the powerband. Atleast this is waht i was taught about it. i could be wrong

I'm not saying you're wrong, but if someone is so slow at shifting that they can't keep their RPMs up, they have no business being in a car, let alone racing.

ok, dude. heres the problem youre facing. you watching fatf and actually believed something that was said in the movie! bad bad bad! its all one big lie! the director who directed that thing knew jack s**t about street racing. its pointless to even ponder half of the s**t said in that movie. for example, when they find that supra in the movie and that one guy says it will take $15,000 to soupe it up and be able to beat a ferari and so on...theres no way in hell you can do that much crap to a car that looks like a train ran over it and then go half parts "imported from japan", fix the car so it looks decent, install all the parts, then have it ready in like 3 days...no way in hell. fatf is the biggest load of crap ive ever heard. thats my rant.

gotta luv the "overnight parts from japan", Fed EX would probably charge 15K "maybe more" just to overnight headlights from japan !
