1997 HX and 2002 HX

I recently sold my 1997 HX 65,000 miles, and now I have a 2002 HX with 3,000 miles. This car doesnt feel as fast as the 97. Is that just how it is, or do i have a problem with the engine. In the last car I felt the V-tec kick in and this one it isn't very apparent. Just seeing if you guys have any input on this. Later

VTEC on the HX was not meant to be used for performance, rather it's for efficiency

EDIT: The same is basically true for the EX as well

yup, HX has E-VTEC... engineered for gas mileage and not really performance.

Do any of you have the cvt on the hx. I would like to know what you think of it if you do.

Yes, I have the cvt on my hx. I think there are a bunch of threads out there with my opinion on the cvt. I think some people might get sick of reading about my cvt so I'm leery about writing more in yet another thread. But since you're new here, I'm going to cut you a little slack (isn't that a line from "Back to the Future"?). I'm just being silly. Basically I like my cvt a lot. It has some issues but I think the good outweighs the bad. I have a low rumbling vibration from the tranny at low RPMs. Apparently other people with 2001+ HX cvts have had the same problem. There is a lot of discussion on this at my HX group on Yahoo:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hondacivichxcvt so I won't repeat it all here but there is a solution for that issue that requires flushing out the tranny. As for the good side, I think the CVT works very well in hilly areas and with cruise control. I especially love the sport mode that allows you to accelerate more quickly and keeps the revs up really high if you want to keep them up for some reason. I suggest that you check out the HX group on Yahoo and search for some previous threads on this topic. I'll be happy to answer any more of your questions.

Later!

EDIT: fixing some typos

Nope, no LSD available for our cars through Honda or aftermarket.
