Trade in question...
Trade in question...
Someone please tell me what happens if you want to trade in a paid off car (civic) for a vehicle cheaper than the trade in value ( 98 passport that I want )? I mean the passport that I want is around 8-9k and I would hopefully get at least 10 or 11k for my trade in, so would the dealer pay me the difference or what? how does that work? Please help me out..sick of the civic. Thanks

Sorry. I don't mean to rag on you or your thread but wouldn't it be better and more efficient if you called your dealer

you can trade in a modified car, its just that they won't take in consideration of the mods, so, you might be better off too sell it privately and get 1000$+ more. How long have you had the civic for? If you want something bigger with awd, I highly suggest the Murano SL, not SE. The SL is 40,000$ while the SE is 46,500$ and all the SE has is leather and HID. My mom just got the new murano, and damn its nice, even tho it doesnt have leather or HID, its a damn smooth and quick car.

Anways Inca, I do not think they will end up giving you the difference in cash on the spot. Payments possibly?

What in the hay!
Inca, they would simply write you a check for the difference. They will try and make that difference as small as possible or even no difference at all. You could sell your car to the dealer w/o buying anything if you really wanted to do so. Anyhow, they'll cut you a check for the difference - period. There is no payments or other bs.

Mbow has it on the money - there is no monthly payment bs. i mean wtf you gonna charge the dealer interest? They just cut you a cheque for the difference.
Zerofighter - you should read people's post more carefully. 8-9k for a passport and you're talking about a 40,000$ + car.
