Rep Power: 0 I dont think the wrx will depreciate by 50%, right now, it is a 35,000$cdn or so car, while a 2002 wrx is like 32,000$. So if it was me, I'd wait until you are at the buying stage.

Rep Power: 400 Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but could you even buy a 2000 WRX in the US??? I don't think they were available here as 2000's. You may be seeing prices for the Impreza 2.5RS, in which case I can see around 15K being close to right.

Rep Power: 0 I remember the days when I talked about what I was going to get I'm 17 now...guess what I said I wanted first....a 6g civic. Then I said an 2g Eclipse...but not the turbo. Then I made up my mind...I was gonna get a brand new Celica GTS...ahhh I still love those, to bad the engines just aren't that good they need to put the 3sgte in them. Guess what I got as my first car...95 Eclipse GST...it was fun and I liked it and put an intake and exhaust on it. but I wrecked it...then I got a 97 Accord...and it was slow and just not fun for me. Got rid of it and just got my 99 Eclipse GST with everything I wanted that the first one didn't have...plus I'm building it up to 350hp...something that you don't really see in 7g Civics. And I'm not doing internal work on it or anything.
You have a lot of time...your mind is gonna change so much in the next 2 years...new cars will come out, your friends will get cars and you see what you like, you'll go to high school, Get what you will like...I like the 2g Eclipse Turbo...its fun to drive, no it doesn't handle that well stock but lowered with anti-sway bars, and strut bars makes it way better. plus its cheap and easy to mod.
In 2 years you could pick up a 99 Eclipse GSX for 9 grand or less I bought my GST for 10500 plus tax...
And What do you consider a fun to drive car? Something fast that can corner well? Or something slow that you drive to get grocerys and pretend it is fast because you have a cat-back exhaust and a CAI..believe me the 10hp you gain from that will barely make your car faster.
