Rep Power: 0 Which car to buy?
Ok guys im lookin for some advice! Im not gettin a car for awhile(like 2 and a half years) but im really startin to get into cars and moddin em and stuff liek that so im askin if you guys could help me out here? IM lookin at 3 different cars.
Surbaru Impreza WRX(2003 model)- 227 Hp-20/27 MPG
Honda Civic Coupe EX- 127 HP- 32/38 MPG
1998 Toyota Supra TT(twin turbo)- 320 HP- not sure on the gas mileage
Now if im going to be gettin my car in like 2 and a half years, if i get the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX it would be like 12-15K, the CIVIC COUPE EX i would be gettin brand new which would be like 20k, and the 98 SUPRA TT would still be like 22k, from the look of it the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX would be the best deal money wise and i would have more hp than the CIVIC COUPE, I like the CIVIC COUPE(i drove my cousins 93 LX and it was really fun to drive. Just lookin for some advice, guys please dont flame me for not automatically goin for the coupe, i just want some more power under the hood. So just post some suggestions, im lookin for a car with a low price but its got some good hp to it. THANKS>

Rep Power: 0 Well, right now im 14, so i figure if i got a 2003 wrx it would be 12-15k because the 2000 right now is 12-14k. I got enough money, thats not really an issue but i want somethin in the 10-20k range.

Rep Power: 0 wouldn't a used WRX (2 yrs old) still cost somewhere between $18,000 - $21,000? i would think so. if i had a WRX, i wouldn't let it go for $12,000 - $15,000. i'm not sure what i would do cuz the models of Civics and, maybe, WRXs would change within 2 years, right? if i were to choose now, i would go for a WRX (brand new, if possible).

...and 2 1/2, so that would make you 14 or 15 right now Out of your list, the civic is definitely the cheapest, new car.
edit: oh ok....my question was answered

IMO, a new driver shouldn't have that much power under the hood. I was there and even with a civic, you always get the urge to speed.

Rep Power: 325 well then a wrx isnt for you. believe me kid, when i was 14 i was like yeah yeah blah blah blah im gonna get a supra, then the real world hits you. first off you cant get a 2003 subaru wrx for $15,000. second, its classified as a sports car for insurence companys so your insurence is gonna be sky high. as far as a supra, forget it. youre not gonna find a supra with decent milage for $22,000. stick with a civic and youll be alright.

Rep Power: 314 Hmm... good luck with insurance on a SupraTT. In my opinion, maybe a Civic would be a good choice, possibly a used 1?? A used WRX.... I havent seen many WRX's that are NOT modded up at least a little. Modding up a WRX costs a whole lot more than a Civic.... but then again, you want speed? or do you want good gas milleage and reliability?

Rep Power: 0 Alright, those are some good reasons. WIth the money i save from not cruisin in my civic, and with gettin 32/28 miles per gallon, ill have enough money to do good things to it. First im plannin on gettin a CAI and a new exhaust system.

Rep Power: 0 i agree with these other people about too much power on your first car. my first car was an 89 ford tempo, and i max out that speed-o-meter every chance I got! luckly it only went to 85!
if you get a wrx or a supra tt you freakin kill yourself!

Rep Power: 0 The EX's insurance rates would be higher than all the other civic coupe models, but i think i would still go for it, i mean, once i get a job, which will be like in a year, it will provide me with enough

Rep Power: 0 Theres no way your finding a WRX for 12-15k in 2 years you will probably be able to afford a 2.5rs though if you want a subaru, but all that power under your foot your going to get into an accident it's bond to happen and it's better to start off with a new car rather than a used car not that your going to have problems with a used car but it's easier on maintenance with a new car cuz of warranties for all those times youll be neutral drop and blow your tranny in a auto or grind your gears and say bye bye to your clutch in your manual tranny J/K good luck at least your getting into the scene young just don't follow ricers and use the search button haha.

Rep Power: 341 If your parents allowed you to have a rear wheel drive TT Supra with 320hp they deserve to be reported to child protective services.
Supra - just plain no.
WRX - unrealistic price.
Civic - realistic and practical. but you have an unrealistic view of it.
I'll tell you straight up... with a reasonable amount of money, you're not gonna have a fast Civic. I thought I could make my Civ go fast when I bought it with just a few hundred dollars... my brother is a former Mustang owner. Buy a nice car instead of a fast car. Then, buy a fast car when you're twenty-five, your insurance rates go down, and you're responsible enough.
Note: don't think this is some old dude rippin on ya, I'm 17.

Rep Power: 0 A stock civic will hit 116mph. I wouldn't recommend that
on stock tires for very long tho unless yer suicidal. Takes
about 3 1/2 hours to reach 116 tho Sure the civic isn't that
fast but get real..... when are you gonna be racing? If you
race you are an idiot. Just gonna get yer license taken away.
Get the civic and forget the speed. Get a system
Oh and btw the civic is a very lightwieght car.... how could it be
heavy? lol granted the 7th gen is slightly heavier than 6th gen,
it does have more hp tho so it evens out. Slow? Yes. Heavy? No.
Plus the civic looks hella cool with some rims. Better than all the
other econo-cars neway. I wanted a real fast car a couple years
ago too (I'm 19, almost 20) but now I love my civic. Those high
HP cars require a lot more and more expensive maintenance too.
And if dont keep on top of that and a turbo goes yer screwed.
Had a friend with a 3000gt and he blew a turbo..... not good...
NA engines are much more reliable..... ok my rant
Don't race Just stupid.... keep it on the track.

Rep Power: 0 Alright, you guys have convinced me, i guess with a few mods it will be a little faster, but i guess im not expecting a race car anymore. A civic will do for now, as long as its fun to drive! Is it fun to drive?
