Rep Power: 338 which car to get?
i know this topic has been beaten to death already. but im trying to help a friend out.
right now he drives a 94? 95? 2 dr auto acura legend. this pos is falling apart so he needs to get a new car.
he says he can sell it for 9gs and with that he has total of like 12-13k.
he wants a car that is fast but has realitively good gas mileage. no domestics.
i was suggesting a 99 civic si to him.
any other good cars out there?

Rep Power: 0 If you have 12-13k to spend i would definitley get a hatch or a coupe civic 95-98 ($5-6k), take out the d-series or z and but in a GSR or a B16 (4500-5000) and still have like 3 grand to mess with bolt-ons. or whatever your pretty little heart desires

Rep Power: 0 You can get a NEw 2002 civic si for 16,100 around my area. Thats an american Si not the canandian si. And yes, its been quoted to me. Not just a rumor.
Kinda wish now that i had gotten that instead of my ex. But i did buy my ex in 2001 and i cant drive manual so there you go. Also, i think the new si is ugly.

Rep Power: 0 It depends on what he is going for. A car that is pretty quick and really nice and roomy...like a 98 prelude. A fast car... since he wants it "new" 96+ hatch or Civic (~$5000) swap an h22 ($2400 for motor ~$500-$1000 labor) Either supercharge it or turbo that bitch (~$3000) you would have a REALLY fast car, with good tires and a good driver probably low 12's depending on the boost maybe a drop into the 11's and it would be cheaper than his limit.

Rep Power: 0 Awhile back I was looking around for a 97+ Prelude & I looked in a LOT of places & never found 1 that was under $15,000. The couple that I found around $15,000 were nowhere near new condition, you could tell they had been used ALOT. All the cars had between 20,000 & 40,000 miles on'em. The prices ranged from around $15,000 for the 97's & 98's all the way up to $21,000 for the 99's, 00's, & 01's. If I had found a '97+ Prelude in good condition with no big damage I'd have bought it in a heartbeat but I never found 1 & I don't think I ever will based on what I have seen so far.

You should be able to find a decent late model gsr in that range as well. He shouldn't have a problem getting a '98 gsr with typical mileage in the price range. A '99 may fit in the budget too. They are somewhat hard to find and again, many of them have been touched by the rice wand. Also, they do run on PREMIUM gas - OUCH!
Oh, and how about 99-00 ex accord coupe 5spd?
