Misdemeanor On your next ticket*

i dont know about other states, but here in cali, if you get the SAME fix it tickets for altered anything(lights, corners, exhuast, etc.), you get a misdemeanor on the ticket they send to your house! my friend got three violation: exhuast, parking lights, and corners, but he had a violation b4 on his corners, so in the mail they gave him 2 fix it tickets, one fine(corners) and a misdemeanor! he went to court, after he fixed everything, and brought the corners, told the judge "it looked cool" but are going to throw them away in court. the judge was coo, and dismissed his 4 violation, but charged him with a $10 fix it cost. he was lucky, the guy before him was on his third violation for neon lights, he got one perminate point(cant take class) on his licence and a $350 fine!! becareful, law so new even the cop that sign off his 2 correctable violation had to look up the violation number!

It's not illegal if you don't get caught.

Besides, CA sucks. I dont' know why all of the best cars are there. They have to toughest regulations I've ever seen. Over here in SC you can do basically anything.

here in Iowa the only laws, i believe, and proper color turn signals/parking lights and if you have neons you can not be able to see the bulb. no laws on engine stuff or lowering.

I live in NM, that's New Mexico for you people who don't know your fifty states, then again, a lot of people don't even know this is a state. But to the point, I don't think there's any crazy law like that out here. I know there's laws against dark window tint and maybe turn signals. I think that's about it. But I've heard rumors that there's gonna be a new law stating you have to leave your car the way it was when you bought it, no changes what so ever.

true, but it's up to the officers to decide what is legal and what is not. even if your part is legal, an ahole officer having a bad day will give you a hard time. didn't someone here didn't pass inspection for having silverstars, which are supposedly legal?

The reason CA is strict is because they have the highest traffic population in the states, therefore they have every law you can think of to help keep their economy in check, therefore crappy laws that i dont enforce in my jurisdiction cause we dont have them

Ahh that sucks right there yeah the laws there are stupid I will say. Yeah limo tint would get me in trouble in CA but yeah with it being so expensive we will see if I ever make it out there. Yeah OR apparently has a tint law that they only allow 35% all around but whatever as I see it, every other web site I have seen said 35% front and no limit on the rears.

i'm not trying to sound like an *** or anything, but if your willing to take the risk of having illegal parts, and you know they are illegal, you shouldn't complain when you get caught. i know some laws here in ca suck, but what can you do about them? if you get busted once for having an illegal part, you should be smart enough to not put it back because you know you can get busted for having it.

I think that SEMA would have something to say about that (not that they are a national agency or anything), but that would **** too many people off and seems completely ridiculous. I wouldn't believe that until it happened-
