Thank God for this post...I thought I was the only one out there with a F'ed up civic with two scratches on the rear bumper (rear bumper, passenger side: really long and noticable) And also one deep scratch and dent combo on the passenger side door. Damb that person to Helllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats why i started this thread...i was gonna feel really bad if i was the only one with a fried civic. as for gotti...i did the same thing too, not as bad, but i fixed it myself. I was talking to one of my friends who owns a body shop and he said that the best thing to do is to go all out..THEN pay attention to detail. He has a point IMHO. Ill get my altezza grill, my lip kit and probably honda spolier, maybe a fiber hood, then as a final touch, an all out new paint job. thanks for making me feel better everyone!!!

how bad is your car as far as damage?

i got my civic 8 months ago. and it has dings and scratches galore. My roof has two craters in it from when i parked my car under a tree and **** fell on it. my trunk lid too. my hood has two dents and a few scratches on it. the sides of my car has at least 3 dings on the body, 4 on the doors. my rear bumper has a bad scratch from a shopping cart that hit it...and my front bumper has a small scratch that i have no idea where it came from i hate it...my car is new..its supposed to be pretty...
First new car?

Trust me, dude, I'm with ya. I got overly worried when my civic got a bit scratched up cos I accidentally bottomed it out a bit... Fortunately, all of the damage on my civic is right under the front bumper, and it's only to the plastic. It's not that big a deal in the long run. Because you use it to drive around every day, it's gonna get hit by rocks, hail, snowballs... It'll probably be the target of punk kids on Hallowe'en, or a careless driver... No matter what, your car WILL get scratches, dings, and dents. It's just the way it is. The sooner you realize that, the happier you shall be.

If you are concerned about the scratches and dents and so forth, get it taken in to get repaired once it starts really showing out. With the example of my bumper, it shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred to buy a new one and replace the plastic myself. Scratches on paint can easily be fixed with a new paint job for about $200, and most dents can be taken out. It's not really worth it, though, if you're just driving it around town all the time, unless it's something that makes your car look really bad.

Just remember to like your car and treat it right, and you'll get many, many happy miles from it. Don't get too attached to your car, though, because no matter what, at the end of the day, it's still a car. Get overly attached to it, and it will break your heart worse than a cheating spouse.

Oh, and my car's Taffeta White. It's not a bad color since most damage doesn't show up on it. Plus, ppl are less likely to damage your car since it's so unbelievably visible. *knock on wood*

I've had my vic for a 1 and a half now. Not a mark on her. Anymore that is. Now 6 months ago there was $8700 worth of dents and ripped off pieces all over her. But now, not a scratch. Gotta love those trees!

I guess my car isn't as bad as some of the people's here ...

I only have a bigass dent from where my ex-gf pushed me into the rear qtr. panel.

o yah ... I dunno what u would call it, but my front "lip" is almost falling off. I don't think you would call it a lip since it's made of black rubber ... but anyway yah, that's from bottoming out a couple times. I didn't think the car was -that- low ... it's still stock height ...

I've got one ding on my passenger side door. It's noticeable but not bad. I have scratches on the back of my bumper from people bumpin me. I also have some paint chips I guess from the highway doing about 130mph. Well not that fast but anyway. I think I've taken pretty good care of mine, I've had it for a little over a year now

My paint is scratched on the bottom right of the front bumper. Looks like I kissed a curb or something. It'll probably buff out with some rubbing compound, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

The left corner of my rear bumper is scratched up from some **** hitting me in a parking lot and not leaving a note.

There is a small dent in the trunk lid above the emblem from pushing it closed.

If you look really closely you can see a minor dent in the driver's front fender from one of my ******** friends leaning against it. My car is not a freakin' chair!

My brother just slipped with a hoe (the garden tool) the other day while trying to scrape the ice off of our driveway. Now I have a 2 inch long DEEP gash in my passenger side door. Plus, when I bought my car Honda had already installed the stupid door trim piece that's supposed to keep the door edge from getting dented. Well, they did a CRAPPY job installing it, so now that I've been opening up my door and closing it for about a year now, it has worn part of my driver-side door sill down to the bare metal, and it's starting to rust! I DIDN'T EVEN WANT THE FREAKIN' EDGE GUARD ON THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Oh well, I'm gonna fix it myself b/c the dealerships just really mess up your car. OK, I'm done ranting and raving now.

OH man!.. lets see.. I jumped a blind double dip goin 40 once (on accident), I gotta huge crack in the front bumper from when some mustang with a drunk driver in it crashed into a guardrail right in front of me causing the wooden post to smack right into the bumper. I bottomed out on the sand (beach sand) highway in pismo beach on my way to camp the sand dunes n ride atv's. But after all that abuse she still runs well. The scars kinda visible in the pics..thanx to photoshop for the first 2 poster pics
