S2000 or RSX S-type
Which would you prefer, s2000 or rsx s-type?? If you could get either one which one could you get?
On side nots, how modable is the S2000? and how does it compare speed wise to others in that class?

$34xxx vs $23xxx... I'll take the expensive one. I'm not even sure what 'class' the S2000 is in, coz its a sports car, it has a 4banger, it has 240hp RWD... doesn't sound like a whole lot of cars. The RSX is just a Civic with cosmetic differences and an engine that has a bit of power. Either Comptech or Vortech makes a nice SC for the S2000. You could have a few extra horses from that I'd bet.

Well, Jackson Racing Just Supercharged the RSX... I saw something like 215 to the wheels (about 55 more than stock). It was in the new SCC. I doubt Vortech is too far behind.
Between the 2... It's 2 completely different types of cars. If I had to pick, I'd say RSX mainly because I don't fit in the S2k. My shoulders are too wide. It was designed by a little japanese guy, for little japanese guys.... so its just not the car for me.

S2k considering ive owned the Type S.
However if I was spending money on them neither. The Lancer EVO and STi will be the only cars worth dropping money on when they are released.

modable vortech supercharger lots of goodies for everything you just gotta dish out the $$$, btw the jackson racing supercharger is for the non type S rsx or for both cuz 215 is 15 hp more than the type S obviously.

I was just thinking of asking this too. Out of the two I would say S2000, but the insurance would probably be more. It's a tough choice.
However, the tallest S2k owners are around 6'3" or 6'4"

There's no comparison...the s2000 and the rsx are 2 different class cars. So...i would go with the s2000. On the other hand, i'm sure the rsx is more modable.

As for other cars in it's class.... this would be other roadsters. Ie, the miata, SLK, Z3, Audi TT, Boxster, vette, etc.
About the only one in there that will whomp the S2k is the vette. Then again, the vette costs $10,000 more than the S2k. The boxster is also quite a bit pricey, and can give you a good run. If you can't drive the S2k, you'll lose. If you can, the boxster can suck your tail pipe. None of the others should be a problem.
Modability? The S2000 can probably hit about 300RWHP N/A. That's 100hp over stock, but that's gonna take a lot of cash. As with any honda, the gains aren't the best, though the mugen ECU helps you get over one of the hurdles. Otherwise, FI, you can get a lot more power. However, if you go that route, you'll need a stronger diff, and stronger halfshafts, along with upgraded clutch. But some FI S2000's hit 11's on street tires. The S2000 is expensive to mod as well. It's also not practical, meaning you don't get alot of room, and you only get 2 seats.

Yeah, I sat in an S2000 at the car show this weekend, and I had some trouble getting in and out. Once I was in, everything fit perfectly. But if I had the opportunity, I'd save up another 7Gs and get a TT.

different class of cars... I commute more... so Type S might be a choice...
but the S2000 will own it anyday of the week.
S2000
Comptech makes a SC for the S2k, there was a guy here in charlotte that blew his motor twice with the SC and got 2 new ones because it was still under warranty

The S2000 outclasses the RSX-S in speed AND handling. I'd take the S2000 simply because that engine and exhaust note sounds oh so f*****g sweet. I would just drop the car on JICs with a few more suspension mods and be done... for a long time. I'll take one in black please. I really, really, really love that car and I think it's fairly priced. The RSX-S however isn't worth it's price for it's performance despite the fact that it comes with a nice audio system, 16s, and sporty leather seats. It's the only *Acura* without HIDs.
I dunno, is it me or do all the *good* cars come with HIDs?
Oh, and if the question was like taking a new 3rd gen Integra Type R (although it's old and'll never be new, yeah...) or an S2000, I'd probably choose the Integra. It's slower than the S2000 but it offers overall performance surpassing the Type S at a Type S price. A good Type S driver could keep up with the DC2R but the R will still run circles around it with better suspension and a better differential. It would still be a hard choice but I'd choose the Integ.

full coverage on the S2k costs $25 more a month than my civic. In fact, the RSX-S and S2k probably cost about the same insurance wise.
I'm 23, single, and a guy.
I pay about $110 a month for the civic and S2000 with $500 deductibles. It comes out to around $1400-1500 a year for both.
I pay $500 a month or so for the financing on the S2000. I got it new for sticker. The hard top is gonna cost you though.... probably $2700 if I remember right.

I'd go with the S2000!! As stated in a few of the threads the RSX is just a cosmetically enhanced civic IMO. Yeah it has more power and all, but the S2000 is badd!! I was looking for a supercharger or turbocharger for our civics (stupid me) and came across one for the S2000. I can't remember which it was but to make a long story short, the S2000 is modifiable and would probably be able to handle everything the RSX could throw at it
