Viper or Corvette?

Viper or Corvette?
Which would be best to have a Dodge Viper or a Chevy Corvette. The Viper is pretty pricey, so the Vette, might be the best value. I know I'll never own either.

definately the vette. hands down much better car than the viper. in the super car showdown, the viper didnt stand a chance...a modded vette came in 1st, 911 turbo came in 2nd, and another vette finished somewhere in there also....viper kinda puttered around.
and the vette isnt that expencive either, considering what youre getting.

Rep Power: 0 There was an article about this same exact topic in Novemeber 2002 issue of Motor Trend. It pretty much saying that, even though you are comparing two of the top domestic sports cars, it's still like comparing apples and oranges. Mainly because the Viper is all about speed. If you dont care about a rough ride or sweating profusely because it gets extremely hot in a Viper and sitting in seats that are going to make sure you do not go anywhere, then this is the car for you... for a smooth $80,000. The viper just has one thing in mind, immense speed. Whereas the Vette, even though slower, has a bit of class and comfort in the ride dispite the all-too-plastic interior. And being 355 hp base coupe model, its the best bang for buck at 50 grand. So, all in all, its all a personal thing, speed, speed, and more speed, or, speed, class, and comfort???

Rep Power: 0 Parent's neighbor has a viper srt-10 or whatever it is. I remember him telling me when he turned his radio on that is ac wouldn't work or something..
Anyhow, I had the opportunity to drive it and it was f-in amazing. I thought my mustang had torque, oh no, my mustang was a power wheels compared to the viper. That car will push you back in that seat with so much force...fudge, I won't attempt to describe..I'll just say it still astounds me 3yrs later.
I have never been in a vette, so I won't choose. The vette is cheaper and offers the same performance basically...I don't know, I am thinking vette because I have never really cared for the viper's looks.

Rep Power: 0 Actually a viper handles a lot better than a corvette and a viper has like the best looks and more hp and that couple milliseconds that its faster its good enough to win the race

I love the viper and always will. I think its got the best looks, I never liked the vette, way too common. Give me a viper gsr in dark saphire gray with dual white racing stripes

Rep Power: 308 I'd definitely go with the viper. There already too many corvettes on the streets and I think the viper simply has a more unique look. I have no idea which car is faster but according to some, the vette is a faster car. On the other hand, who needs that much speed anyways. You'll just end up getting pulled over by a cop.

Rep Power: 0 I think that only peeps 50+ should be driving a vette. dont get me wrong, I have seen old guys in vipers as well. but I dont see a viper every single day like the vette. vette------>mailbox, everyones got one!
idiot mag...ive seen that car run 10 flat on slick pavement.

Rep Power: 326 Hands down viper for me. True it doesn't handle as well as the vette but it's due to the monsterous 8.0L pushrod V-10. Who the hell cares about handling that much if you've got that much ***** under the hood. It's a modern muscle car. That's all there is to it.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a Viper, and it's on my list as one of the cars I want eventually for sure (I htink it's damn sexy), but I've loved the Vette since the day I first lay eyes on one... I can't ell you when or where, but I've always loved it.
I told my dad for my 21st I want a Vette... even if it's just the body of a '69 with no engine in it I'd take it... just to look at (and fix up of course... when I have the $$$).
Vette first, Viper later.

Rep Power: 0 I think the reason is clear why you don't see the Viper as much as a Corvette... look at the price difference. If the Viper was closer to the price of a Vette, then maybe you'd see more of them... or maybe not since the Vette has a bit more civility to it.

Rep Power: 0 C5 Zee Oh Sicks. id take the extra 25K i saved over the viper to turn it into a consistant 10 second street eater with all the expensive toys that go with it... that happens to pull over 1g on the skid pad (does that STOCK). Im sure id have enough left over for a years worth of gas after that as well.

Rep Power: 0 just because its street legal doesnt mean youd want to drive it for any sort of transportation purposes, other then transporting your *** to the finish line. And I do know of vettes that do this.
