Evo VIII looks better? Nah, I say WRX Sti looks better. Well, front of the new WRX is nice. Back of the new Evo is nice. There. Performance wise I think the Evo does a little better than the WRX. Don't know what the power to weight ratios are though. Overall I'de choose the WRX Sti though. I just love the way it looks. Kinda squished length-wise more than the Evo. The Evo is stretched out and looks like it has a narrower wheel base. Kinda icky in that respect...
I sure wish my car was newer

Definately the WRX. I don't think the EVO VIII looks very appealing at all. That and I like the brand Subaru more than Mitsu. For the money they'd cost to get at the dealer, I'd definately go with the WRX. Its much nice looking.
WRX STI ooh wee!!

its like 300 bhp and 300 tq....
(from what i heard)
and isnt evo vii only like 286 bhp? (dont get me wrong, "an amazing machine" - fnf )
and both are AWD ...... cars just dont get any better then these two...
HOW DO YOU GO WRONG?

lots of reviews say the evo is really fast, but it is not meant for everyday driving... the steering, braking, and overall handling is cruddy, opposed to the sti which is probably a lot better for driving around town, and its still fast.

I look at it this way. The EVO VIII has a base price of what, $28k and the the Sti a base price of $32k, right? So why not take the EVO and that extra 4 grand and upgrade the car to your liking. Both are going to be great cars, I dont think you could go wrong with either.

I would have to say Impreza WRX STi.
You can't argue with 2.5L Turbo. It seems like WRX is trying harder.. they don't want to start that STi vs Evo war here. They just want to crush Mitsu and are being EXTREMELY aggressive. You gotta give them credit for this.. they even brought the original WRX out before any hotrod Lancers from Mitsu.
to Subaru for having *****, and actually giving North Americans a better engine.
