Actually its slower than the M3. The article lists the 0-60 at 5.9, an M3 will go in less than 5. I agree though, I like the look of the m3 a lot better.

Your point?

The M3's compression ratio is extremely high. My friend's 02 M3 has had to have the engine replaced twice due to blown cylinders.

The IS430 looks nice as hell to me...

I like this and M3 almost equally, but BMW has the better tranny. If i had the money I'd prolly buy the M3 SMG. But its good to see that lexus is trying to compete. Keep the germans on their toes.

the caption under the third pic says it all, and that is why it can't compete with the m3. please, get the true manual m3 and not the smg. you don't deserve to drive a 333hp car if you get the auto, i mean cluthless manual, i mean sequential manual gearbox.

Don't believe everything you read.

Considering in '98, MotorTrend and Car&Driver tested GS400 to hit 0-60mph in 5.9s... with a 1000lb lighter IS300, coupled to a more aggressive gearing ratio, it should do 5-flat with an automatic.. if not better. Now it's going to get another 300cc on top of that..

IS300 is lighter than an M3.. and it's going to get 325ft of torque at some ridiciously low 2,500ish RPM...

Build Quality wise I think i would take it in this order:
C32 AMG, IS430, M3.

Styling wise, I think i would take it in this order:
M3, C32 AMG, IS430.

Overall winner - C32 AMG

I think Germans have the best styled cars out there. Aside from the Italians of course =)
Japanese cars look good too, but they lose their appeal quickly. German cars have the right mix of conserative yet bold lines. So it looks hot both at a black tie function, as well as the race track.
