I was gonna say, we both live really close to Littleton Mass.

his car is a nice car, but I like my civic better.

In my opinion the interior is way to silly looking. and he has the 2001 model with a manual sunroof, & it has this big plastic lever you pull down & have to spin around and around. it picks up all the dirt & stuff from your hands and looks really dirty and gross.. plus the bar or lever whatever its called, that you have to lift up on the shifter to put it into reverse, thats just seems like a really bad idea.

but they're are things i dislike about my civic too but i can live with them.

wow that sunroof does sound lame! But that lever for reverse seems to work soooo smooth, it slides right into reverse everytime, so instead of pushing down on your shift stick, you only have to lift ever so lightley on that lever, it seems like it's easier on the tranny...

A stock civic will probably slightly pull on a stock focus in a straightline race, at be a driver's race at the least. (other than the SVT)



I've thus far killed 2 ZX3's in my DX sedan, so I can't imagine the coupe would be slower.

is yours an auto or a 5-speed?.. becuz my friends is a 5-speed?

how do you figure it works easier on the transmission? you still have to push the clutch in?.
it adds an extra step to go in reverse.
push in clutch,.. pull up lever,.. put stick in reverse..

it just seems really silly to me why they would do that?.. i don't know of any other standard transmissions that do that? [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

It's a 5 speed manual, I see what your saying, but don't you have to push DOWN on you stick to put it in reverse?? All I do is pull up on the lever, and it goes right in. It seems to take less pressure...

My friend just turbo charged his focus sedan and he's running low 14's with his 18" Tantrums. Once he figues out the boost and gets slicks he'll be running low 13's...nice

I don't really understand what your saying?.. I don't push my stick down,.. I just step on the clutch and push it back. just like every other 5-speed I've driven.

I've only driven my friends focus once, and it was just like every other 5-speed, except for you had to pull up that lever to go in reverse?.. I just don't understand why the engineers designed it like that. it just seems like an extra pointless step you have to remember?

Hey Likeafiero,

You thought the seats were comfortable!!! I used to work at a Ford dealership for a year and a half and I drove many a Foci (used and new). I thought they were one of the most uncomfortable cars on the lot.

yeah thats me i guess, i do have a focus with several mods, including 2 1/4 magnaflow exhaust, Iceman Intake, Focus Central Underdrive Pulley Kit, Focus Central 65mm Throttle Body and shorty shifter.

As for performance, I know you all will think that im all BS and everything but i do have cdmx to back me up whether he likes focus's or not. I test drove an EX civic and the focus that i have now and those were the only cars i drove before i bought my focus. the civic was nice (except for a gunshot to the taillight) but the focus has more torque stock and it was quicker than the civic so i went for the focus.

For those of you who say quote (i read this on another post with you guys bashing the focus) "i can beat a focus with my eyes closed" or "focus's look gay and are slow". You do not know anything about my car. you probably dont even know the displacement, or the fact that it is DOHC as compared to the SOHC vtec civic.

I am not coming here to start fights and im sure i will get flamed but before you start talking race a focus at a drag strip with someone who actually knows what they are doing not some 16 year old ***. and if you have similar mods then they will most likely beat you i hate to say it. the stock focus will win against a stock civic just because it weighs about a hundred less and it has more torque. sorry but ya cant argue taht.

let the flaming begin---- BUT maturity is going to be much more appreciated.

(btw the focus is a top ten car by car and driver so dont give me the focus is crap speech) ive had mine for 20 thousand miles and the worst ive had is a broken shift base cuz i busted it.

tell me dude, shawnskee- you drive a civic, they are in the exact same class so obviously it is not the econo car title so i guess it is the ford car title. have you ever even owned one or do you go by what your honda buds tell ya? be a little more open minded dude, i have nothing against civics even though they are all over the place

well looks is one thing, but myself, im more concerned about performance, both of our cars have benefits when it comes to that. the civic has a Huge aftermarket with i think better prices so that equals more mods, but the focus has less aftermarket but a little more power out of the gate, so less mods.

130hp less to the actual wheels, 135 torque, again less to wheels.

As for the who can beat who, I am starting to believe that the focus forum is going to say the focus and the civic forum will say the civic. its biase. natural i guess. who cares who beats who its always the driver that counts anyways.

if i was to buy a small compact car like the focus... i would buy a scion xa even though they are more expensive by a few grand.
