Redline badasses
I love reading stories here about people racing in their 7th gens...
"...I was about 2 car lengths in front of him as I shifted at 7500rpm..."
"...He was ahead of me by a bumper. I shifted into 2nd as I passed 8000rpm"
"...2nd gear done. I shifted to 3rd at 7900."
Man, shut up! No you didn't! You drive a 7th gen civic and it has a fuel cutoff at like 7000rpm.
Besides, even if you were to take it to 8000rpm
, that's way past the peak power point in the powerband
(unless you've done some big ECU mods or something)

can't we all redline at 8,000- 12,000 RPMs? all it takes is a wing, stickers, and intake and muffler!

That's just one of the reasons I pay very little attention to threads about people beating other people in street races and such. 99% of it is highly exaggerated or entirely fictitious, not to mention that I am very strongly against racing on public streets or spending a lot of money to race an 18-second family sedan on a drag strip. Do you realize that some of these "stories" you read may be of cars that are NOT 7th gens? I.E. the 6th gen Si that redlines at 8000. Or the S2k that redlines at 9000. Show me links to these threads that people with 7th gens are claiming to redline or shift near 8000rpm.
Yeah, I realize that some of them might not be 7th gen Civics. However, I know at least a few of them are. I don't want to go look for them because it would be too hard to find them, but I'm sure more stories like this will turn up.

I always thought that the rev limiter was the same as fuel cutoff. Doesn't it limit the rev to a set RPM by cutting off the fuel at that RPM reading? Someone please enlighten me..
Hey nice gauges! lol Oh, and have any of you seen the video of H-town driving his car after he did the swap? It's wierd because he still has the stock gauges in the civic and it goes all the way past redline before he shifts.

There's a few vids in this thread. In some of them you can see the tach.
They're pretty old. It's the thread that was posted when H-town first finished the swap. It was at the top of General Ramblings for a while. You probably have them and just forgot. lol
