Rep Power: 378 I would say RSX....but that is because I dont like the look of the new Si. It all depends on the person that is buying the car.

Is a base rsx faster than an si? I am not sure, but I have a feeling alot of people that have answered are assuming its a type-s. Anyway, I would go with the rsx, they are just plain really good looking cars....

Rep Power: 350 I'd rather get RSX base over the 02 Si anyday of the week...
but then again those 02 Sis are dirt cheap now... 15,000 at some places... RSX's is still around 20,000
but um. *shrug* get a wimpy Si or a wimpy RSX.
hmm.

Yeah they're both pretty wimpy... I'd say go for the Si cuz it's cheaper. What's the point of getting an RSX if it's not a Type S? You're gonna end up getting the same horsepower from either car. The only difference is the price.

The new Si puts out 160 hp at 6,500 rpm and 132 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. While this is the same amount of horsepower produced by the '99-'00 Civic Si coupe's 1.6-liter engine, it does make about 20 percent more torque. A closer companion to the new Si is the Acura RSX (the base model, not the Type-S). The RSX also comes with a 160-hp engine displacing two liters, though slight variances allow the RSX to make 141 lb-ft of torque. Power from the Si's engine is routed through a five-speed transmission. Compared to the Civic EX's five-speed, the Si's possesses a shorter final drive and closer gear ratios to optimize the performance characteristics of the engine. The gear ratios are also different from those used for the RSX's transmission.

Decide by a) How much money you have and b) Which one he thinks looks better.
Not everyone likes the shifter on the new Si and it's not good for people who like to rest their arm on it. If I HAD to choose, I'd get the RSX though I'd get neither of the two.
