where was your car made?
where was your car made?
was curious to find out if there is a link to where your car was made and the problems you experience. I was under the impression that the cars where made to the same specs where ever, save the emission standards. But when I spoke to a parts guy at the dealer asking for cam price. He said that it depended on where the car was made. If from Japan it was about 40-60 bucks more expensive then if it was made in America. On the vin if it starts with a j it is from Japan, a 1 is America, and 2 for I believe Mexico but not sure maybe Canada. I know if the car was made in Japan it tends to have a better resale value. my car was built in Ohio, engine and tranny from Japan. The final assembly point is also listed on the sticker that has the msrp price of the vehicle and that lists all the crap that comes with the car.
I have an '02 ex civic coupe. Aren't the sedans and coupes built in different places? Or are both built at the couple of plants that Honda has? If you have an Si, at least you know it was made in the UK.
