Since Japan does not have the Acura make are cars like the Acura RSX and CL etc, called Hondas in Japan, or are some of these models only produced for export and not sold in Japan?

Right, the RSX over there is actually called the Honda Integra. They also have Honda NSX. And also some of the CL, TL models, etc, would also be called the Honda CL. Though I'm not sure if those exact cars exist over there.

how come these threads keep popping up lately?

anyhow I dont believe there are any "north america" only honda car... all models we see here are there also, but they may not be going with the same name (ie: RL, CL... etc. they probably have actual names)

but yeah acura and honda is one and the same.

same goes for toyota and lexus... nissain and infinity...

they really like to rebadge and rename things here in the states/north america.

it was necessary more or less, to compete with established automakers in entry luxury market.

really, would you fork out 90,000 for a honda or nissan, sharing same badge with 10,000 cars? some of us would, but the general public wont.

who would spend 30,000-50,000 on a "Honda?" That started out as an econ car manufacture....

Good link.

It looks like they've got everything we've got, and them some, except for maybe the Civic Coupe, that might just be a North American model.

The Civic Si appears to be called a Type R. And then they've got the Legend and Inspire and Saber which appear to be the same as Acuras, they also have California plates, with Honda emblems.

There is a Honda Accord Wagon, which is interesting looking, and could be potentially popluar in the US. The Fit is there too, which is the biggest selling car in the world right now, but would probably be about as popular as the Echo here, which is probably why there are no plans to market it here for the time being.

The Civic Ferio, isn't a model that is available here, at least with the folding side mirrors, I would be intereste in a Ferio. The basic Civic gives me comfort in that the Japanese model looks the same as my Civic Sedan.

There are a bunch of vans and other vehicles that we don't have here.

Japan doesn't have the exclusive Canadian EL anymore
they did before... badged as Domani.
I guess an EL is pretty much like a Civic.

Honda Japan does not have anything like the CL or MDX either.

RL = Legend
TL = Inspire/Saber
RSX = Integra
NSX = NSX

Does the Acura brand exist in any countries besides in Canada, US and Hong Kong?
