just talked to skunk2

as some of you know... i work at stater brothers (it's a grocery store in so cal)... anyways.. i was helping a customer out to their car and i noticed her shirt said skunk2 on it... so i asked her if she worked for skunk2 racing and she said she did.... so i asked her if there was anything new coming out from skunk2 for the 7th gen civic and she told me that a new INTAKE MANIFOLD and STAGE 1 CAM are ready for production and it'll be out really soon... she was really nice, she told me to call her up at skunk 2 anyday for updates and possibly use my car to prototype some of the new things coming out... if i get to prototype the mods for skunk2, then this will be the second company using my car to prototype their products...

K&N TYPHOON CAI prototype
SKUNK2 prototypes (PENDING)

An intake manifold? My dreams are coming true!

I live near Skunk2 and I took my car there to get my old exhaust fixed when the weld broke from the exhaust muffler and the exhaust hangers. My friend does some business with them so I got hooked up. Anyway, I want to find out for sure if they are releasing an intake manifold. I will definitely be the first to have it.... or I'll try to be.

Oh ****, they finally moved! Damn! What a surprise. When I was there, that was months ago and I heard for a while that they were moving to SO Cali. Time goes by and didn't even see them go. Oh well. That's kew.

this is probably a pointless thread because when you asked her that, she was probably refering to the 7thgencivic HATCHBACK which has the K20 motor. skunk2 made it pretty clear, as well as a lot of other companies, that they would not be producing any aftermarket engine performance parts for the D17 due to lack of potential. now if im wrong on this when, then thats good for everyone with a coupe or sedan, but i honestly dont think they will come out with these products for the D17 application.... sorry

I guess you need to talk to that chick ASAP... and if it is the hatch, you should tell her that lack of potiential in our engines IS because of our stock intake manifold (it's one factor out of 2, the other is the cat converter). It would be nice if the aftermarket did us a favor and made us an aftermarket manifold instead of just leaving the 7th Gen Civic's D block in the dust. I guess it's also why Hondata hasn't given us a standalone ECU yet (lack of potential). If no one is buying the hatchback, how are their products supposed to sell? Talk to her and get back with us, hopefully with some good news.

I don't see why they wouldn't produce them for 7thgen D series motors. They've done it in the passed, only a matter of time.

According to skunk2 advertisemants I've seen in mags, they ARE making a cam for our cars. Just their stage 1 cams I think but its better than nothing.
zex made a cam for the d16z6 so its not like its an impossibilty for the d17.
