I was going to work last night around 11:30pm.......I come up on this new green Ford Escort. I had a huge exhaust, dark tint, rims, green LED washer nozzles, and green sidemarkers. I don't know if he had anything else.

The light in front of us turns red. It's the last light before you get out of the city. Its a 4 lane(2eachway) Hwy. The road is dead straight for 3 miles. Well I thought it would be nice to race him to see if my 7thgen could take him(like there was ever a doubt). We hadn't revved on each other or nothing and the light turns green. His engine roars as he takes off. Naturally I take off after him and quickly pull past him while halfway through 2nd gear and I was gone.

Just for fun to let him know I was racing, I turned on my strobe flashers(real ricer street racing style LOL :laugh[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG] He flashes his headlights, so I figure maybe he wants to run again. He comes zooming up on me and does the traditional flyby. Then he turns on his flashers as if he won. He slows down and I pull up next to him.

We both start revving on each other, and I point over to him to tell him whenever he is ready he should go. We were rolling at 50mph and a couple of seconds later he takes off. I drop it into 3rd and pursue after him. I quickly catch and pass him with no problem while in 4th.

It was almost too easy of a kill. I slowed back down from 100 to 60(the limit) to see if he wanted to pull over and check out each other's car. He would never pull up next to me know matter how slow I went. I guess he figured I would make fun of him. Oh well. I went on to have a great time at work.

Don't act like you are better than me. Like you have never driven above the speed limit at all or done anything illegal.

Why should I be not allowed to race because there is not track. The road was deserted and out of town.

Not a fan of street racing but I was on a road the other night in the country and I wanted to just drive the civic so I hit 90 then slowed down hehe. But good victory

my friend's parents were killed by a f**king punk like you. All they said during their police interview was "we thought it was deserted". Well, they got what was coming to them, and with that attitude, you will too. I DON'T CARE if there's no track near you, there's a damn good reason why street racing is against the law.:sha ke:

ZX2's in Canada only have 130HP not sure on torque. If both are stick it's really a drivers race...

Well then, I guess I owe you an apology. Sorry - I don't know how to be a proper postwhore. I haven't seen s2000man's posts - sorry I don't spend all my time on this site. Sorry i actually have to go out and bust my a$$ 60 hours a week to get things instead of having everything handed to me on a silver platter. Sorry that I also have friends, and that I can think of other people rather than just ME ME ME all the time....................But most of all, I feel sorry for ignorant asswipes like yourself that can't see how stupid their decisions can be until it's too late.

I guess I was wrong to think that everyone on this site was mature enough to understand my last post.
Now, let me make sure I understand you..............what's the point of street racing again? especially in a civic? I'm sure it has to be good if you can justify 15 years in a state prison.............

So if civics are slow and that means that they should not race, then why do people run in foot races?.........

People are slow on land.....but they still run foot races.......this whole "It's a civic" excuse you streetracer haters try to use is getting old and it doesn't make sense.


Don't even tell me that you have never raced or gone speeding.

I go to college everyday (20 hours a week) and work 8 hours 5 days out of every week (40 hours) = 60 hours so don't give me that bs. I don't think about just me me me either.....I work as a living skill counselor with children who have been emotionally, physically, and sexually abuse. I work with them on being rehabilitated so that they may rejoin their families and society. I am studying to be a teacher which also requires another 5 hours a week in the classroom at this point working in the schools teaching children.

Damn, at least have some respect...I know a guy who lost TWO of his best friends on the same night because of street racing. Ya, I admit when the opportunity arises I'm tempted to do it. But, I'd still rather spend the 15 bucks and the 1 1/2 hour drive to the track where it's safe than do it on a "deserted" street.

And if you didn't see what he said, whats the point of STREET RACING in a civic, not just racing a civic period. BTW people who do footraces don't really endanger others while running.

I'm not trying to flame or anything, don't get me wrong. Because if I were to say "take it to the track" as well, which is what I do think, I would def. be considered a hypocrite, so I'm not at liability to talk.

hmm. dont defend urself. there's no way you can say what you did is okay. I highly doubt his intention was to act as if he was better than you.

now, we're not trying to spoil a kill here or anything, but you gotta see some points some people are trying to make.

why shouldn't you be allowed to race because there is no track? road was deserted and out of town?
1. you do not own the road.
2. driving is NOT a right. it is a priviledge we have. and we (and I) abuse it everyday.
3. again, PUBLIC ROAD, you DO NOT own it.

now its obvious what we say aren't going to stop you, but one day when something happens, and I hope it never happens, you'll learn.

and, if I was in that "race" I would have shift to 2nd from 50mph and end the "race" much quicker.

anyhow, just be safe about it at least. it seems like u have an attitude that nothing will ever happen. I mean, u can trust ur own driving skill, but do you know how many times people lose control on highspeed driving? even when its in a straight line???

also, just because someone is a hypocrite, doesn't mean their arguement is invalid. crying "you do it too..." is a fallacy, it doesn't justify anything.

We all know that street racing is dangerous. And we all know the reasons that it is illegal and shouldn't be done.

Maybe its the danger and adrenaline rush that draws me to it. I dont know, but there have been plenty of times that I have passed up a chance to race because the conditions weren't right. wrong time of day, weather, cops around all of these play in to what I think about before I take off.

I know that I can't justify streetracing, no one can. Its fun. Just like others can't justify smoking, drugs, drinking and driving, speeding.....etc.

My point is.................
I am sick and tired of these holier than thou hypocrites bringing it up. Yes, we know its wrong. That's not gonna stop me. So arguing this point is useless just like me arguing why I race is useless.

I was posting the story so that all of those who think that their 7thgen's power sucks is wrong. I am dead even with my friend's 00' V6 Stang and once I get more mods done, I'll be able to beat him. I'll post that story when it happens.
