just got a ticket

A cop gave me a freakn ticket for having a aem intake..i told him that it was legal and everything cuz it had the carb sticker and he said its a "bullshit sticker they just put it on there.." i was like ok whatever man..and he said i had a mod exhust when i have a stock one..so he wrote mod muffler when he was talking about the intake..damn what an idiot...

What did he do? Pull you over because of the sound your engine made? Or were you speeding or something? Give us more of the story.

i wasnt speeding or nething..i past him up and he was looking at my car..and i guess he made a U and came after me..but he caught up with me like 2 miles later..and he just pulled me over..i guess he heard my intake but i past him up at like 25mph cuz i stopped at a light and then went...

That just reminds me of that MTV show on street racing last night where cops in Cali were pulling people over and lookin under the hood and everything. I'm glad cops in Ohio dont do that.

They are really strict about that stuff in Cali, aren't they? Especially when it comes to emissions, right? In Ohio, our cars dont even get inspected.

Some cops will write tickets that they KNOW will not hold up in court. They write them just incase the person doesn't go to court & just pays it out of fear of losing & then getting court costs tacked onto their fine. You'd be surprised how many people will just pay any ticket they may get.

Yeah, 80 is where they start gettin' ya. I usually keep it under 80 and I have never gotten a ticket. I do keep it above 72 though (when going in a 65 that is).

I assume that you live out in Cali. That's messed up man, I can't believe a cop would actually look under your hood.

Anyhow, go to court and take the carb legal documentation you have with you. I don't have the aem so I don't know what paperwork actually came with it.

Definatley go to court. They will usually offer you a less charge or something to ease the workload on the court.

could you get ticketed for having a FOLGERS exhaust? Kinda sounds like the time when i was going maybe 55 in a 40 and i saw a cop slowing down so i slowwwwed way down. He sees me, and he turns around in some driveway and follows me down the street, then i turn left and he does the same, and im like uh oh just wondering when he will pull me over, and i turned to the school parking lot and i dunno where he went after that. Someday Im gonna get caught.

Oh man I was out tonight and I went by a cop and I am surprised he didn't pull me over since I have those hyper whites on the front. Yeah with the end of the month tonight I shouldn't have went out either since the cops do have a tendency to write more tonight.
