quick graphic stripe question...

Hey, i am going to strip my pinstriping off and replace with a white vinyl stripe. I know i want it to start off between 1/4" and 1/2" at the front of the car and taper larger at the rear and have a few angled slashes in it near the back, nothing too flashy, just simple to go with my blue/white theme. Anyways, please all with a sedan post what you feel is a decent thickness of stripe when it terminates at the end of the car. (Note, i have teh JDM tails so i am considering running the white stripe to terminate as close to teh clear section of the tail light housings possibly) Im considering something like 2" or 2 1/2" thick at the back end, let me know if you would think different....
