Yeah except they only are selling about 380 of them at 680,000, and for a Ferrari like that, they will only sell them to established, rich people who have a history of buying/collecting ferraris.

I am probabley wrong, but

isn't gold fairly soft/weak

Edit: Gold platted - does that mean it just has a very very thin coat of gold on it?

You are correct on both parts...

It isn't sold gold because, yes, gold is too weak, depending on the purity. The more gold in the mixture, the weaker it is...

If that IS gold, it is just a plate, and I would say that one who buys a $4 million car, probably can bet it replated in the future... It is just plated probably so they could have it 24 karat, so that it won't discolor as easily...

lol, I'm sure it's assumed this car is not meant to be driven - kind of like the limited editiion Delorean's - there are 5 in the world that are gold plated...
