i have covered the issue of the bypass valve too many times to count. it is useless; if it ever activates you should have your license taken away for being such a retard.

does AEM still have the video on thier website that shows it only activates when you completely submege it?.. they used an NSX as thier test car?..
anyhow.. like I always say just keep it well oiled and you'll never have any problems. just don't drive into 3' deep puddles. I'm always leave mine on & never have any problems.

it activates not when its only submerged but when it feels excess water coming into the pipe. thats directly from the AEM info e-mail. it may be wrong by some peoples standards but thats just what they told me
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

eeer umm...I can understand where Likeweee is coming from. The bypass valve ONLY works when the filter is completely submerged.....Now what Likeweee is hinting at is that.....for the Bypass valve to work...you would have to drive into a really big puddle...i.e. a lake, in order for the bypass to work. So if you get the bypass to work...than you must be one hell of a moron to get that much water.

Since when did you become GOD of all things automotive. Here is a picture of the AEM Bypass valve on an Acura NSX. They placed the filter in a fish tank filled with water. The NSX still ran perfectly.

ok heres a hint for the moron: THE FILTER WAS TOTALLY SUBMERGED. thats the only time when it activates, and what real life situation would you be driving through that much water anyway? a lake. do you drive in lakes? i sure dont. if you do, burn your car.
It happens all the time here.
So next time don't be so sure. Now that I corrected you, can I come burn your car instead?
Again, common sense rules the day. Probably 95% of people with CAIs will be just fine, even in rainy seasons. For those folks that live in areas prone to flooding, a SRI may be a good idea, although if the flooding is that high you probably won't be moving anyhow.

Yes, I have been stuck in a lake before. I live in Charleston, SC. We are located below sea level. When it rains at low tide all of the streets flood. So when it's high tide you had might as well forget about going anywhere. The street can just flash flood without warning and you are stuck there in the streets of lakes. It happened to me in my 90 Civic. water was coming through the side speakers in the door panel. That should give you an idea of how high the water was.
It happens all the time here.
