New car smell

Hmm, why did my new car smell leave so soon?

Also, it comes back every now and then, but I have no clue why...

Any clue how to get it back? Every "new car smell" air freshener ends up smelling like some cheap cologne or something...

Well, I have had it since September of 2k1, but it left shortly after... maybe 4-6 weeks i'd say...

But yeah, when it is really hot out, sometimes it smells brand new, and the heater smells great for a while when I use it...

my car is a year and a half old, and it still smells like a new car. maybe because it only has 9000 miles on it.

Do u ride ur car with the windows open???
Cuz everytime i buy a freshener and drive with the windows down, the smell disappears sooner.
Maybe thats it
Pretty sure thats the reason

You got used to it. DOnt go in your car for a week or 2 and you will smell it agtain. "new car" smell is just the new fabrics/plastics in the car. With age it goes away, and theres jack u can do about it.

I've had my car for 11 months, 18k miles, and it still smells new. just don't let stinky people ride in your car, and if you do, roll down those windows!

I think the new car smell comes from the sealant the factory puts around your rear and front windshield.
