FINALLY, Pics of the naturally aspirated KMS Civic
Here are the pics I promised. This motor has been totally balanced, and blueprinted.. everything lightened.
Port and polish, pistons, oversized valves, block guard, 500 lift cam, individual throttle bodies, coil pack, clutch/aluminum flywheel, oil pump, haltech, rods, basically everything that can be done to the D17 without using forced induction has been done to this motor. It does also have a 100 shot of nitrous. This package runs anywhere from 5,000-8,000 dollars. Pics

One more thing, the car still needs to be tuned on a dyno. John from KMS said the car is a lot of fun, and pulls very hard (obviously you get a lot of throttle response with those throttle bodies) It sounds sweet too even at Idle. They're expecting about 250hp without the nitrous. These guys do good work. their website is www.honda-performance.com

Yeah, I prefer this route as well.. I'm closing on a house so I won't get to do this until January. With the internals being that strong it can handle a 100 shot. So, I'd be set. For those that want to go turbo, KMS can also build your bottom end for that. This setup wouldn't be for turbo because of the high compression. Oh yeah, redline on this car is around 9700

I chose to spend my money with KMS instead of a swap because of the $$$-HP ratio. H-town's shop said 10 grand for the swap. You only get 200 out of that. Yeah, there's a lot more potential after a swap.. but I don't plan on keeping this car forever... this would be fun for now, and it's an eye catcher.
is it rough at idle? what did they say about streetability?
250hp@wheels? if that's so and not 250@the crank, screw the nitrous, the 7th gen would be formidable with that much power to the wheels and you can say proudly that biatch is NA

I was TOLD streetability was fine.. I don't have to drive mine much, but I mentioned I'd be driving about 13 hours home in that thing once it's finished. He said it would be perfectly fine. Not sure about the Idle, it doesn't SOUND rough to me.. but I havn't been in it, or driven it. If the Idle is rough, they can make adjustments to the cam.

Okay, Just got off of the phone with John at KMS. He said it Idles VERY smooth. As far as streetability, it's fine, it's awesome off the line, just as a rough transition to full throttle. he said it was built as a race engine, not a street rod, ALTHOUGH... it's built well enough to be a daily driver... he sounds suprised himself.

By the way, I know this might feel like a wet blanket.. but it's 250 at the crank, I'd bet 230-235 at the wheels.. it's STILL a helluva accomplishment for the D-17, plus.. there's a stage two nitrous kit to take car of the rest.. He said the crappiest thing about our motor is the intake manifold... they will totally re-do it.
Whoa that is nice. Where exactly are they located i would go there to get some sheit done no doubt. But i want to go with turbo so id let them build my bottom end. Car looks awesome do they have a quater mile time for it. And how does it have all those throttle bodes

damn that looks nice
