Wrong. Honda of america already stated NO RSX-R for the USDM market. We get an areo package with a suspension upgrade. thats it.
i wish you people would quit posthing this crap, were NOT getting a CTR or RSX-R. EVER.

How could we at least be getting the RSX-R if they are being stopped by emissions??

The "CTR" will have the 200HP RSX engine in it, it just will not come will all the 'frills' that the Euro and Japanese models have. I.E. - aero kit, seats, steering wheel, 6 speed transmission?....
We all know that the Si isn't selling well and Honda needs to do something, because Ford ZX3's and SVT's are selling. So there is more of a market niche for a Si-R than a RSX-R. But, we also know the price of a CTR is like 23K. SO when you figure all their adding to the current Si is the 200HP RSX engine, the price would fit nicely in Honda's, Acura's, and Ford's (competitor) line up, as it would be priced closer to 20K
Also - Civic’s 30th anniversary is July 2003. Some sort of celebration is in order.
In addition, you may know that Acura has said that a CTR would be fine for them. Why even say that in the first place if there was not enough talk about it?
Even more so, is all the ‘media coverage’ the CTR has be getting here in the States.
You would think that all of this would add up to something coming are way very soon…

you are wrong. There isnt enough of a market for them to start doing that. You may bet a new Si with some sort of body kit and 17" rims.. and PERHAPS a suspension upgrade. thats it.

Theres been plenty of threads discussing the rumors of an "RSX Type R". However with the Performance Package Type S being released, dont expect to see a Type R.
If you read the whole thing it said they the JDM Integra Type R wouldn't be a LEV in the US isn't because the engine is different or whatever, its because the cat converter is farther back and it would take longer to get the cat up to temp to operate correctly. And American Honda isn't going to bring the type R over because they predict low sales. Auto makers think that the Americans aren't as into performance cars as the rest of the world is.

they are correct about the cat, incorrect about the low sales, ppl nowaday are spending more on cars, espically teenager, look at the typeS which replaced the gsr, theres alot more typeS than gsr used to be,

there are more type Ss the GSRs? Are you on crack? The GSR has had been sold since 1994! (in its latest form, its been sold longer then that)
I don't really see that many Type-S out there. 3 of my friends have GSRs and most of the RSXs I see are the base. Most of the teenagers out there don't buy their own cars, their parents buy them and a lot of them won't buy $23,000 cars unless they are rich. Thats why there are so many civics on the road, they are cheap and reliable

Yeah, and Honda also stated a long time ago that they would never have the ITR for North America either. But it made it after all.
Honda's the not the only coy guys--Dodge denied of ever making a coupe version of the Viper in the past (GTS) and BMW denied any plans of using the euro-spec M3 motor (now it's here, 333HP)... hell, they even denied of any plans of making the M5, when 540i Sport was introduced!!
History has shown automakers have consistantly held back information to the public. One obvious reason is that people always hold back for the "ultimate" versions. RSX-S sales would no doubt slow, if RSX-R plans are annouced.
"R" cars are niche cars--small volume, but it pumps up the company's performane image (think what M does for BMW, and AMG does for Mercedes). Unforunately, the RSX-R as of right now has no place in the North American market. RSX-S still very fresh (unlike the time when ITR came out, when Integra was becoming real old), and it's also the top of its class in terms of performance (compared to other sports coupes, such as CelicaGTS, Golf GTI, EclipseGT, TiburonGSR, etc).
I see room for it in 2 years, when the RSX craze comes down, and the competition heats up even more.
