who's fault was it, and the door alone will cost you about a grand.

$4300-$4800 is my estimate. Thats assuming you dont have any frame damage either.

Her fault (2001 Accord V6)
was in fast lane, going about 70 and started to slow down way before the traffic ahead was slowed down, and she cut out from behind me into the other lane (2 lane freeway) and then over corrected and sideswiped me (her only damage that I can tell is her front bumper was a little scratched). IM actually not that upset. Im more upset that Ill not have my music for a while as they fix my car and somehow I jacked up my middle finger so it hurts. She hit me pretty hard cause I did about a 160 degree turn.

Sorry man, from the looks of the pics I think that the guys here are low balling the estimate big time...... my car was broken into and there was minimal damage (door had to be replaced) and it cost almost 4 grand total. I've been in one other accident and had to replace the rear quarter panel with was two grand if I remember right - so you are looking probably at closer to 7 grand all said and done, because I see some damage above the door as well..... it's possible that you bent the frame on the car and if you did, I would try and get it totaled out so they just get you a new car altogether. Good luck man.

Edit: I didn't even see the damage to the rear and trunk....... yeah your car is hurtin! I'd take out your headunit with the door like that as well..... no need to add insult to injury if someone comes along with a crow bar and decides they need it more that you. My .02

I would say $3,000. I got hit dead between the 2 doors of my sedan a year ago and it was 3,000.

4300 or so from one shop I took it to, but that was a preliminary. There is a lot of stuff he could not really look at because I have to wait for the claims adjuster person to actually look at the car and give me what they think it will be.
We shall see, I would rather not total it out but the body kit is a definite and we shall see what else ;p

dang that women does not know how to drive right anyways...since it 4300 was only the preliminary...i say total cost would be around 6gs. It cost me 1.6gs just to replace the rear bumper and fix (not replace when it should be) the back left fender wall, stupid Honda people.

Yeah im sure its more. The guy that gave me the estimate was just going on what he could see without opening that door or popping the trunk or anything like that. So we shall see.

Since it wasn't your fault take it to the Honda dealer and have them fix it. You shouldn't have to pay a dime and that ladies insurance should also pay for a rental car. Don't take a "No" on any answer from her insurance company, demand that a Honda Dealer fixes it with New Honda parts, and that they pay for a rental car, thye will try to tell you it doesn't work that way, if they do, tell them they will hear from your attorney. I went through this a few years ago when a lady in a Mercedes ran a red light and took the front end off my truck. They said that they could only fix it at thier shop, thats BS, the only time you need to get 3 estimates is when you use your own insurance for something you did. After you get your car back, nit pick everything before you sign a release, make sure the door doesn't leak or have any wind noise

I agree, everyone is estimating way too low. I had "relatively" minor damage to the front of my car several months ago when I rear ended someone, and that came to about $4400. This is much worse, and I'd guess in the neighborhood of $9K. The section of the vehicle hit is pretty hard to make perfect again, even on a cheapie Civic. Have 'em total it

I have taken it to two body shops so far. The first one (which was prelim and not for sure) is 4300 (and some change). The other one which is the the place the other insurance company wanted me to have an estimate at is 3000. I dont buy the 3000 but I also dont buy the "lets total it" or $10,000. I guess the pictures look worse than it is or something, cause the interior you couldnt tell there was an accident if your in the drivers seat. So it wasnt that deep in. Ill find out soon how much its really going to cost.
