Seriously getting pissed at the dealer.

ok, I had my car in last week to be worked on, 2 problems...
1. Was the transmission was sticky... They fixed it, then blamed the pedals for the problem. I called them back and gave them an earful for blaming aluminum pedals for no reason and not even checking to see if they were actually causing the problem. I told them if they made anymore unsubstantiated claims about aftermarket stuff causing problems I was going to file a complaint with Honda.

2. There is bad static in the radio. So all they did was check the connections in the back of the HU. I finally figured out it was a blown speaker (I discovered by putting a Rap CD in and it had enough Bass to make it real bad). So I call them back today. Told them that I just wanted them to order the speaker and I'll put it in because I had no desire to waste any more time with them. So the guy becomes an *** about it saying that if I complain about the radio, then thats all they're going to check. He said they weren't going to turn it on to listen to it. So much for being thorough. I don't know, but I think I would want to hear the static before I took anything apart. Damn idiots.
Anyone think that I should put in the bad word with Honda? This is seriously pissing me off. I WOULD take it elswhere, but there isn't another dealer for 100 miles. Hopefully the Acura dealer is willing to fix me up, but for this, I'm just going to rip out the speaker myself.

Complain to Honda, definetly. One of the things that Honda stands for is customer satisfaction and service. You weren't satisfied, so you need to let Honda know that one of their dealerships isn't representing the values they want to uphold. I guarantee Honda will give someone a warning.

you better find another dealership to fix your transmission problem. that's what i did for the rattling rear deck. i was fed up with my dealership for ripping me off. any dealership can work on your car, just be polite when asking. with regards to your blown speakers, i suggest you get an aftermarket (sony, pioneer, etc) because it will sound better than oem.

I am going to get aftermarkets... but I wanted a working stock pair to sell. So I made them get me one that wasn't broken.

dude.. dealerships can't please everyone all the time.. just thank honda for giving you a reliable car. think about, you could own a WRX that has a tranny that will snap if you dump the clutch one too many times, and you'd be stuck with a $4000 repair bill, and a denied warranty claim. stupid stuff will happen no matter what car you buy, and some places are more busy than others and can't/won't devote as much time to little things especially if they see aftermarket parts. they are a business after all.

can't blame you. i think you are not the only one who has this problem with honda dealership. maybe we are lucky we have a reliable car as compared to others, but if something is wrong with your car, and if it is under waranty, then the dealership is obliged to fix the problem.

Well, I called Honda HQ. They were helpful. I'm not mad at Honda themselves, and I showed that on the phone. But I expressed my dissatisfaction with the fact that the dealer is not willing to take the time to check things throroughly and fix the little problems. I have no desire to spend the time to find and perfectly diagnose whatever may be wrong. That's what the dealer and the warranty is there for. But they don't seem to want to fix it. And unfortunately, the Acura dealer can't do warranty work on Hondas (same company, different dealer networks). The guy on the phone also agrees that the entire stereo system should have been checked out before telling me that the problem is my choice in radio stations. Honda filed a complaint to the dealer. I can't wait now to hear what the dealer has to say in response...

Unrelated aftermarket parts should have no effect on service courtesy. They should also have no effect on getting something fixed right the first time. If you take it in there, you want the car fixed the first time don't you? Reliable or not, things still go wrong with new cars, the stupid little things usually, and there should be no difference in the care taken fixing those than there are with fixing 10 year old beaters with broken transmissions.

i totally agree that there isn't be any difference in quality of service, but that's not necessarily how a business is going to work. some businesses (dealers in this case) choose to make their money by relying on good customer service and the return business that they get out of the customer. some businesses just look at the dollar value of everything. they can make more money on non-warranty work, so they don't spend as much time on it as they would non-warranty work.

unfortunatly it's just how it is, that's why we live in america =)

RedDragon333 will become famous soon enough
thats sux about your dealer. good job on the complaint to Honda thats the first thing i would have done. A dealership shoul treat the customers and their cars with the upmost respect and things should hit the fan if it isnt that way. I would recomend finding a dealership that will help you out. Props to my Clearlake Honda for the helping, promoting and sponsering of my ride. They install all my parts and allow me to keep all warranties! Never had an issue about this isnt under warranties because you have aftermarket pedels WTF? anyway good luck with your ride!
