Hopefully her or her husband, or friends don't read this board.... Would be a shame if they found out and called the dealer up with written proof...... I know I would try to file a formal complaint and get all I could from a dealer that did something like that to my car.....

I am business man in Japan. I do however have posses great interest in extreme exotic machines. Over the years, I have greatly grown my self collection to now include nearly 60 cars from around the world. Most notibly, I too posses 2003 model Cobra SVT (among other FORD) that I recently imported specially from America. So I understand how you feel.
If any one of my service advisor would pull such a dishonarable act on one of my possessions I would expect him to perform ritial suicide for his dishonoring of his company reputation.
I am greatly sorry for what has transpired.
Excuse my poor English pronounciation.

Pheeew...that was a long read...and still growing!!
There simply are no words to describe how stupid that tech was/is.
The best part of all this, though: We are all auto enthusiasts and united by our common love of our cars--and bikes!
It REALLY does not matter what you drive, as long as you are a TRUE auto enthusiast.
EDIT: I just hope that guy doesn't get hired by a Honda dealership.

its nice to see car lovers regardless of import/domestics, young/old, or race/show, that people can come together to show support against injustices and disrespect towards what we love.

LOL from all the posts and 'condolences' from across the Internet, you'd think the girl's parents were killed in a horrific accident or something. Good grief - the tech took her car for a joyride, and unless we hear otherwise, we can assume the car is just fine.
Mind you, I'm not defending the tech in any way. That is just plain stupid taking any car (and a CUSTOMER'S CAR, nonetheless) out on a public road at 140 mph. And posting on the Internet that you did it is just doubly stupid. What a moron.
But from everyone's responses, you'd think this is the first time it ever happened. Don't be naive - this thing happens quite frequently at dealerships. If a tech gets an opportunity to take a high performance car on a test drive, you can bet most of them will push it hard just to see what it can do. And so would most of you, whether you choose to admit it or not.
I've been sitting shotgun on test drives with master techs in some of the S2000's that we have to diagnose, and they always take up to VTEC a few times. One of them even took it on an empty, deserted road and simulated a 1/8 mile run. No, he didn't do an 8000 rpm clutch dump, in fact he remarked that it was a customer's car so he didn't want to risk burning out the clutch. Myself - I would never ever take a customer's car for an unauthorized joyride, and if I had to test drive one I probably wouldn't even push it hard. I wouldn't want to take any risks of breaking anything and being liable and/or losing my job.
The best way to make sure the technician takes good care of your car is to talk to the technician yourself and establish a good rapport. Let him know how much you care about your car. Be polite, and don't come across like a rich punk who has tons of money to throw around but doesn't know the first thing about taking good care of his/her own car. We have this regular customer at our shop (red S2000, supercharged, hardtop conversion, integrated rear antenna into rear windshield, black powdercoated wheels, license plate 'REDLNR') - I swear this dude's S2000 is in the shop 9 months out of the year! He's already blown 3 different engine blocks because he's a moron and doesn't know how to break in his car properly. All the techs around the shop laugh at him behind his back and he has a big reputation as a fool with too much of Mommy and Daddy's money to spend.
