Motor swap
I have a 2000 SIR w/ b16aDOCH in it... I wanna do a swap eventually to a nice JDM motor...
Any advice what would fit in there???
I need something more than 160 hp.

Keep the B16A and just rebuild it. That's definately the best way to go. New cams and pistons and all that good stuff. Then you tubro that ****.

with the si motor you can go NA and break into the high 13's with the car still being streetable (street tires). less expensive than turbo and supercharger plus less wear on the motor than putting nitrous. There is an si that goes to the drag strip and has run a best 1/4 of either 14.1 or 14.2 NA; he has still yet to put in Skunk2 racing stage II camshafts that will definitely land him in the high 13's. once he hits 50k miles, he will get new rods and forged pistons that will raise the factory 10.2:1 to 11.0:1--->he might get a head gasket to raise the ratio a little higher than 11.0:1
that's a great motor to have with lots of potential

For the price of the Type R motor, he could buy the camshafts, LSD and other parts necessary for his B16 and still probably come out to less than the $5k and up they want for the motor.

Vortech SC + Nitrous = Reliable, drivable power plus a lil' something extra for special occassions!

Tyrpe R pistons and cams, Teg Type R intake manifold, Bigger injectors, Hondata stage 3 programming. Skunk2 Stage 2 cams. and about 5 hours on the Dyno. $3500.. added horsies. about 30, The free up some added power by disconnecting your power steering. The work on reducing the cars weight.

"vortech supercharger will be a better bet and cheaper than a motor swap"
this should read:
"a turbo will be a better bet and cheaper then the Vortech SC which makes you buy almost 2K more worth of aftermarket products and spend hours on the dyno to make the claimed power figures"

@ everyone recomending the Vortech kit 5k for a supercharger and running 14's lmao
your best bet is either to swap a GSR or ITR block if you wanna stay with a VTEC block and go that route that will give you good gain with ITR or CTR cams
Or you can do the LS VTEC conversion if you wanna get more involved and have some more torque.
As for wanting a JDM swap dont waste your cash just find a block or build your B16.
Or you can build a B16 turbo and run decent times, friend of mine did a B20 block swap on his B16 bottom end is stock cept for the valve reliefs on the pistons were modified for the VTEC cam, injectors, V-AFC and pieced together turbo kit put down 305hp and 211tq at the wheels on 7psi
so yea dont buy into the vortech crap because thats just what it is crap.
