Got a ticket...has the WRONG CAR on it...what do i do??
So i'm going 10 over....(50 in 40) downhill cuz im leaving a football game early due to an incoming storm w/ hail and such....a black accord passes me, and a cop pulls me over. He tells me that i was going 55...hmmm...well i didin't argue, i was just gonna wait till later since arguing on the road does no good. The ticket he gave me says i have a black accord, and i drive a blue civic. It was light outside, so the blue was clear, and i have a civic emblem....what should i do?

ohhh ok....now i understand. Thats too bad, i would rather have a ticket for the 10mph that i was speeding, rather than the 15mph that the other guy was doing....im honest, and never disagreed w/ the other tickets i have gotten....i called a friend of mine and i'm gonna pay the 100bucks for a lawyer to take it over and eventually have it dismissed. Just wondering, qcksilvr, how does the lawyer go about having large numbers of traffic citations dismissed?

You have to remember that the county, state, what have you, makes their money on the fines and court cost and such. You may get your ticket reduced to a lesser violation that may not affect your insurance but still have to pay the same amount in court cost or fines. They want the money not your license. It's a pretty big source of revenue if you didn't know.

Speaking of lawyers... Check this out. Its a company I joined. In the past, I spent $600 for a lawyer to walk up to the table with me and tell the judge that I am terribly sorry for my traffic violation and that I go to school and am a responsible person. The whole thing lasted like 3 minutes. That was the biggest sum of money I ever wasted. Sure his words worked, cuz he is a lawyer, but I didnt know I couldve had that same service for a whole lot cheaper. Check out my site and see what you think.

Actually, that happened to me and my friend when I was living in RHode Island. We got a ticket for parking in a no parking lane and they put the wrong color on the ticket. My friends car was white but they put blue. WE went to court to dispute the ticket and the judge dropped the ticket charges with ease. We really didnt have to argue anything with him. We just told the judge, "WE have a ticket but its shows a blue toyota not a white one". the judge quickly said, "thats fine, the ticket will be waived". so if i were you, i would try and dispute the ticket.

QCKSILVR- How could shawn02 be responsible for paying a ticket that is obviously for a different vehicle? It's not just a minor technicality here, it is a considerably different car, the cop obviously F-edup.
Yes, you can go to court and win for sure on this one because they got the wrong car on the ticket. =)
It's like how some people get away with murder because a police forgot to give them their rights
miranda rights or something like that. i forgot. hehehe

in fact, i did have to spend $600 for that case, cuz i had gotten pulled over and had 4 tickets written up for me. 1 for drivin with plates off another car, 1 for havin expired registration, 1 for no insurance, 1 for having expired plates. i was merely throwin in my 2 cents. and i believe in pre paid legal, it works, cuz for that one speedin tickets, lawyers will charge at least $250, so its your decision. i bet u never needed a lawyer in ur life, yet.. i know the damn legal system cuz ive practically given them over $2000 outta my pocket, cuz of the way i used to drive. i know my traffic laws.
