Why is it that cops assume if you have a nice import, you must be a street racer? I drive 120 miles a day to work and back and can hardly afford my insurance cause of this. Any cops reading this, I have got another ticket, pulled over by the same ***** 3 times, for non-moving violations, but now he's slapping a stop sign violation on me, which is bull....anyways, i have already spent 700$ last year on tickets, and took driver re-training courses...Is it also legal when you go to court to have a third party involved, meaning the actual officer who pulles you over isn't there, it's one officer representing the town or city, who wasn't even there when you were pulled over...anyways just venting and if there is anything that can help with this ticket for the stop sign, please let me know....duane

here in texas, if the cop doesn't show up to court then they dismiss your ticket and let you leave.

i fought the non moving violation nightmare. tints, no plate, no seatbelt. you need to decide whats more important. your car & mods, or a lifestyle that excludes you from the hassel of being profiled by police. i'd say loose the mods (i'm assuming lighting, tints and or a really loud exhaust ) with equipment violations u can be pulled over everytime you car is on the road. if you beat it once, another officer will be happy and justified in giving an additional ticket. i played this legal game with tinted front windows. and after the third ticket i just removed them. i have not had any problems with the law or local police since. and my car still looks nice imo.

I'm pretty lucky on the moded tickets problem. My parents purchased this car in New Mexico for my christmas present, and kept it in their name for insurance purposes. I live in texas, but have New Mexico plates on the car... this also means I only require a rear license plate. Anytime a cop comments on my mods and how they need to be changed, I simply shrug my shoulders and say," Sorry, perhaps we should leave that up to the New Mexico police." They always get fuming pissed at me, but they know that they can do nothing about it.

I get pulled over almost everytime i go out. I have to drive exactly the speed limit or i get a ticket. Theres only a few towns that i drive through who dont give me crap. Thats what you get for working hard on making ur car look nice.. They will try and pull you over for anything you can and it sucks its just somthing u have to deal with and if u kiss cops asses which is what they want they will "let you go"

yet another reason why LEDs, Neon lights, body kits, big wings, stickers, and whatever else SUCK. Its not that its an import, its that you turned it into 1 big glowing neon sore thumb.
