Problem with Tint Job
Problem with Tint Job
Last week I had my car tinted at a local shop using 35% Premium film (full metallic).
After giving it a good week to set, I have noticed an air pocket in my front passenger window that refuses to go away, and a screw up in the rear glass near the defroster wire connectors. What happened was around the module that connects to the defroster wires, the tinters left a bit of the adhesive backing material and it never quite stuck to the glass.
When I took the car back to them, they tried to pry that section up and re-stick it. In addition they used a marker to try to color up the area that was affected. I was particularly upset about the marker idea since it was a lousy cover-up job.
I expressed that I was uncomfortable about the repair job they did and that it didn't look professional. They gave me the option of coming back in to redo the rear glass. However, they said that they would need four hours because they would need to disassemble the rear deck to be able to remove the rear glass tint (because I had it cover the third brake light).
My question is, should I bother with it? It is an eye sore to me but most of the people that have seen my tint say that it doesn't matter much. I'm just not sure if I want to bother with four hours and having my rear deck removed. I already knew our rear deck is flimsy and prone to rattling, so that has me worried that I'll develop more rattles. What is the likelihood that temporarily removing the rear deck and putting it back will lead to more rattling problems?
Also how hard is it to remove tint that has set for a week?

BULLL Sheitt... it does not take 4 huors to remove the rear deck.. the chinese doods that did my tint did and excellent job..
they just took apart the rear deck in like 5 minutes.. not unscrew a single thing.. all the panels seem to pop off if you know what you are doing.. they had my tint perceftly cut and done in 1 hours.. and my rear deck has never rattled.. ever..

Dude I had my tint done on saturday. I wanted 20% on the sides and 5% on the back glass and they did 20% all around. When I got back to the tint place to pick up the car i noticed the 20% all around and told them about it. They pulled the car in, removed the 20% and put on 5% all in about 20min. my total tint job time including redoing the back windows was 2 hours. It should not take anymore than an hour. They are trying to screw you.
