Nokya Headlights melted my wiring ... >: (
Yup, I was looking at something under the hood the other day and noticed my wiring harness for both the headlights was completely melted. I've only had the bulbs in about 6 months, and I've read others have had theirs for much longer, so any ideas what it might be that's causing them to overheat like that? I'm not sure if it's something recent or if it's been doing this for a long time, but it really sucks. I have bare wires exposed and I'm forced to use my crappy-looking stock yellow bulbs.
Any ideas? I'm hoping they'll cover that under my warranty, but I'm not sure. I'm getting the TYC projectors this week I guess, but I'll need a new harness to hook 'em up I think. Has anybody else had this happen ?? It really sucks ..
Oh, and while we're on the subject I guess, I also blew a couple fuses last night, and that was a pain in the @$$ to figure out - I had no dash lights, no running lights, no heater control lights, no hazard lights or turn signal. It turns out the nice people at Honda decided to name the particular fuse for all this "small light." Like I'm supposed to know what the hell THAT means. Anyways, I'm just venting now.
Cheers

MARTINA(my gf) Its really tuff to say, I've hear that some cars they melt and some cars are fine?? Kinda wierd cuz I've been using Hiper Industries and I've gone through like 6 sets and I also noticed that some pairs are brighter than others. I have been fine and my friend's car's wire harness melted.

One pair of Eurolites lasted me over a year. This just helps my cause and proves that Hiper of any other cheap crap high wattage bulbs should NOT be purchased.
I got some Nokya Artic Whites too. (Yeah, the color dont match. ) Been about 4 months or so. Luckily, no problems. I wasnt sure I was gonna get them cause I heard about Nokya's and wires frying but I got them anyway
Good luck with getting them fixed BlueFlame, and let us know how much it costs.

Well, I haven't heard from the dealer yet, I ordered the new harness yesterday and he said they might be here today, but so far nothing. I'm guessing it'll be in tomorrow, which is great cause I don't work and I can spend the whole day dinkin around with it. He said it should be about $10, but I dunno if that was for one or the pair. The heavy duty harnesses that I've seen on the net are like $35 a pair.
I think I'll wait until my new TYC black projectors get here, and then use whatever spare cash I have to get some Mtech bulbs - those look really nice. But yeah I'll let everyone know how much the dealer charges me.

Ok, for anyone else who melts their wiring harness, a new pair cost me $12, and since I live in the friggin boonies, you can expect to pay that or probably less. The guy was nice enough to overnight the parts for me too, which was cool.
I'm gonna work on it tomorrow and let you guys now how it turns out, assuming anyone's still reading this thread ..
Cheers!
