That is kinda sad. What's the point of having that big of an engine?[hr]

ONLY 450HP out of a 6.8L engine? That's sad.

Vesper, please do not use the word "pig" around here. We have several officers on the board and I'd appreciate it if you could use some more mature language.
As for the Crown Vic, I drive a 2002 Police Interceptor and love it. As I have said before, I have never had someone successfully get away from me. It's an excellent car and it is extremely fast, in my opinion.

Yeah, our Bureau of Special Operations has all kinds of odd cars. They aren't really used for enforcement purposes, however. Each precinct has a number of unmarked and slicktop cars that can be used for vehicle enforcement details. Our marked cars have low-profile lighting anyway.

I actually thought police cars were much faster than they really are, probably due to the fact that they are loaded down. There was a comparo at a local dragstrip in an effort to promote the new intrepid police cruiser package. The crown vic cruiser ran the quarter in 16.7 seconds. Our civics can do that! And in real-world driving (read corners, braking) the civic will be faster. (Not than anyone would want to evade law enforcement officers).

...they never get away only because all Cops call for backup, chopper, IR and cop on motorcycles. BUT on a one vs one? Plenty of cars to outrun a police cruiser.
I had a Mercedes try and take off on me once, an Infiniti once and a beat up Jeep. Caught all three of them. But yes, as was mentioned, nothing is faster than the two way radio.

What are all you guys talking about...only 450hp out of a V10. Everyone ooohs and ahhhs over a 450hp Viper, and Dodge needs a 8.0L to make that...with less torque to boot.

I'd rather have a V6 with forced induction to create 450+ hp, than some big@ss V12, V10, 20L engine to crank out that power.[hr]
