Odd Question
I've been trying to figure this out for the longest time and it's bugging the hell out of me.
How many BTU's is the A/C unit in our car?

It stand for British Thermal Units. I thought A/C was measured condensing units. I forgot what is was called. Maybe I should have paid attention or went to my Thermal Dynamics class. Oh well, change majors.

It's THERMODYNAMICS, and a BTU is a measure of energy transfer. It is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by 1 degree Farenheit.
Finding out the amount of energy needed won't be the easiest thing, you'll need to know the volume of the car cabin, the flow rate through the system as well as properties of the R134a (the AC coolant), some other numbers and you'll be better off just giving a call to the dealer to see if they know.
Why do you want to know???? That is a bit of an odd question.

Just something I'm curious about. I just bought a 9000 BTU A/C unit for my apartment and it left me wondering what the BTU rating is on the unit in our cars. Just like the title, though: "Odd Question"

I have seen that a lot of the people in this forum say that their air isn't cold enough. I live in Florida, where is is hot hell right now, and my air conditioning works perfectly. Within minutes of turning it on, I have to turn it almost completely off because it is so cold. Maybe I just have a freaky one.
