AEM CAI is "broken"...
ok, here goes... today i was about to clean my motor... get all the crap and dirt out when i look down at my intake and the rubber piece (attached to the filter) is like cracked in half, and the metal (i shyt you not) is pierced w/ like an 1/8th of an inch hole that some piece of my motor or something was sticking thru... lol... i may be a girl but to me that shyt DID NOT look right... so i took the bottom piece off and put the filter on the top half... well the bottom of the top piece... ok now have any of u ppl had the same prob or any prob w/ yer cai? and how about where it should sit and what it shouldnt touch, etc... i mean it was installed by someone else and i am pretty sure they did it right but i just want some other 2k1 people opinions... ok, laters..

the plastic around the filter broke? nothing is really supposed to touch the filter. this is from the AEM install instructions :
'check that the filter is not touching any part of the vehicle...be sure that the pipes or any other componets do not contact any part of the vehicle'
'check that the filter is not touching any part of the vehicle...be sure that the pipes or any other componets do not contact any part of the vehicle'
i remember when i put mine in i was kinda worried cause it rubbed up against the transmission a little bit, but i dont think there was anything sharp enough to go through the rubber and do that...i dont know what happened
