My Civic has to go in for the 5000 mile checkup next week, can I leave my CAI on there? I know they're not supposed to give me crap for it, but that doesn't mean they won't. Anyone have input on what the dealer's opinions are?

I have been in with mine many times...i even had it inspected with it on...no one said anything yet...except that they told me to leave the tube going from the valve cover to the intake on and not use a breather.

u dont really have to leave the tube.. unless u are enviromentally conscious..

From what I've heard, it depends entirely on the dealer. I may be wrong though, just some dealers are a lot more fussy than others.

dealers usually say any mods on a car are acceptable as long as they dont depreceate the value or mess with the internal components, which could void a warranty. so u should have no problem with ur CAI!!

I'm due for my 8000km checkup in a couple hundred clicks...

BUT, I already went to the dealer and got them to put on my pulleys! they said if they did it, it wouldn't void the warranty!!!

i didnt think there was a 5000 check up the maint light comes on at 10.000, and then all they want to do is change the fluids and check the brake pads, and then charge u an arm and two legs. do all the stuff on ur own and go in and tell them to turn the maint light off unless u already know how to do it.

I asked dealer about cai and was told it would not effect anything. They did the install. Don't think u should have any problems.
