Flimsy Lower Bumper Thingy???

Hey guys, you probably have heard this before-and if if you haven't i'm surprised but the rubber "valance?" on the bottom of my 2001 Civic lx 4dr fell off about the 2nd week i bought the car. Have you guys had any similir experiences with that? I'm awfully dissapointed that Honda could have let such a detail flop....

Mine is still attached. My Dad took delivery of the car in Oct, 2000.

I heard a loud clunk like I hit something one time a few weeks after i bought the car, but there was nothing in the road, and I dont think I am missing anything on the car.

could I get a pic of this valance thing please?

I left mine off when I cleared my headlights. It really doesn't make that big of a difference IMO.

just take it back to your dealer.....there is a recall because some of the brackets were installed upside down at the factory. there were so many that came into the dealer that i worked at and they all went as warranty claims....didnt cost the customer anything.

The front valence is a cheap alternative to a front 'lip' - it's made out of rubber and attaches at the bottom of your bumper...take a look for it, I'm sure you'll see it (or you won't if it fell off)...I believe that's a $50 accessory for your car too

I would like to officially announce that I plan to stop stealing $20 emblems and start stealing $50 rubber lips.

Thank You,

I kinda bottomed out the other day on a friggin pothole - yeah that pissed me off but anyways - the little rubber valance thingy was bent down, but didn't fall off. I had to dink with it for a few minutes to get it back into place. As far as i can tell, all it does is protect stuff from flying up and hitting the underbody of the engine, though I think on the invoice it refers to that piece as a front spoiler ...
