This sucks a lot...
Ok, so I was this guy with an Eclipse GS, wanted to race me...so I thought "Hey, why not?".
It is a 2001 GS, with an Injen SRI and a HKS Super Hyper Exhaust(I think).
So, the first race I beat him, by about a car length.
Then we race two more times, and it was neck and neck...
At the last race I hit a huge pothole, and my car is dropped about 3 inches in the front, so I hear a loud boom and pull over.
I go outside to look at my car, my hood is popped open! The lights inside my headlight are out, and my sideview mirror was completely out of place. Just thought I'd share...

i hit an open manhole the other day
I dunno how my car survived AND remained aligned, but it was crazy. Felt like I hit a curb or something, lol, but I kept moving forward so I knew it wasn't that, haha... Sure enough, on my way back home I passed it again and by this time, two cops and a township truck were there with it blockaded. They had quite a confused face on them, hehe... That's scary sh*t though man, I know how you feel! Sorry about your car, tho...

Ouch bro...that really sucks. Take pics of the pothole and your car and send them to the city to see if you can make them pay for it.
I hate to be the one to say it, but keep it off the busy streets. Racing is for tracks and interstates, and open parkways with no potholes/freshly paved. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]
