NO US Lancer EVO till 2004

I just read in "CAR PREVIEW 2003", a crappy little magazine from Car Buyers Guide, that the Lancer EVO will come to the US in 2004. They say we will first get the Lancer ASX, which has the larger 2.4 liter which powers the Eclpise and Galant, with 150+ hp, and it will be available with all wheel drive. All they will say about the EVO is it will be de-tuned from the J-spec 276 hp, but will be more than 200hp.

I also heard it was detuned around 250hp...this was because of a smaller intercooler...however if u upgrade the cooler the hp will go back up to J-spec.

Uh yeah, the Evo will beat those two cars senseless. Looks are relative just as many people now drive the WRX because of how fast it is.

Also I think that the source you mentioned is not too right. So far if you go to lancerforums.com, all signs point to early 2003.
