General Satisfaction???

So whats the deal, I remember reading a thread about this before, but whats everyone's take about the new civic? Its been about a year, and things are starting to go wrong for me. I mean how can the dash be louder over bumps than my previous '92 corolla??? Whats with the shoddy suspension, and the faulty 'b' pipe? Honda, FINISH the car before you release it to the public.

Well, i think its pretty apparent that the '01's have a lot more problems than the '02's so there's a big difference there. I've had my '02 EX sedan since january. the only problems ive had SO FAR is a defective CD player/headunit ( died 2 days after getting the car) and the rear speaker panel (ones with the speakers) was somehow loose so it would creak really loud when I turned at a slow speed. The bolts weren't tightened enough at the factory. My seat rail on the driver side is also loose or broken cause the seat doesnt seem to move back in one smooth fashion, it seems like the right side moves easier than the left. Other than that I havent had any major defects yet. Ive been somewaht satisfied but I really wish I had either bought an accord coupe, an RSX, or just waited for the Si to come out.

well i have a 2001 lx sedan, and i too have some complaints. i noticed that the steering wheel makes a high pitched squeaks whenever i make turns; i have the same problem with the seat adjustment rail... i have to move forward and backwards a couple of times for the thing to "click" in the right place, and my car as a whole.. or maybe the springs or something squeaks pretty loadly whenever i go over speed bumps. overall i'm really happy with the car though. i just want to replace my suspension cause it feels like i'm riding in an old taxi cab when i drive.

I don't know if I just got lucky, or the problems haven't started yet, but I will have had my 2002 EX one year in november. And the only problem I've had was a nit-picky thing that the liscense plat rattled when I closed my trunk. But that was fixed in five minutes with some of that sticky foam/tape stuff. I'm sorry that you guys have had these problems, but I'm totally satisfied with the quality of my car. Well, I don't like weak engine they put in the 7th gens, but I'll just deal with it for now. I wish I could've convinced my parents to lend me the extra money for an RSX...

well I have a 2002 EX that I got in november also, and the only thing that I can complain about is that sometimes my clutch pedal will squeek when I push it to the floor. but when im bored I can fix that. So I give my car a and good luck to all of you that are having problems.

remember that 1st generation almost everthing sucks, i always wait a bit for them to work out the kinks. It happens with everything games, cars, electronic equipment, windows 3.11, 95, 98, 2000, xp....

I love my Civic...

2001 Civic LX

The only complaint I have is the amount of work to get to the rear speakers...I've never had to take that much out of a car to replace two speakers..

Oh well, I think the CIVIC is a great car and will be recommending it to anybody I know that is looking for a new car...
