Well....highway driving is better for gas mileage....less stop and go= better gas mileage. Trust me!

I get 38 MPG mixed driving. About 60/40 Hi/city. Not bad, I guess. I haven't taken any trips where it's been all highway so I don't have a good number for that. I have driven all city and that tank was 34 ish. Not bad still.
I just got back from a 4300 mile road trip, Phoenix, Las Vegas, etc. In Illinois, Missouri, I reached 42 with no air, all flat driving. It was when I was out west I got the earth shattering mileage. Going up and down the mountains, with the thin air, has got to lean you out a little bit, that's what I figure, but I rolled into Denver, fueled up, and the best of the whole trip was 46 MPG. Good on gas?!?! You betcha. BTW, this was all 80 MPH driving, except for going up the mountain. I need more power

i get pretty crappy gas milage (for a civic) about 25 mpg during the school year... its only because i drive in thick traffic cause im in socal
but i do get great gas milage when im on the highway, right now im at half a tank and i already have 180 miles on it because ive driven them all highway

my ex 5-speed isnt that slow and it gets awsome gas mileage. i always rev to red line in low gears and do up to 130 sometimes. i get like 40 miles to the gallon most of the time. sometimes its more than that. but i only put about $5 of gas into my car at a time cause i dont have the money usually to fill up al the way.

I have a 2001 Acura 1.7EL = EX 5-speed sedan. Best mileage I ever got was driving round trip from Toronto to Ottawa. I did the trip and the gas-light came on at the 450 mile (720km) mark. I was cruising pretty slow, around 90km/h = 55mph with the A/C off. I find that increasing your speed past 55mph really bites into gas milage. Mind you typically I only get about 450-500kms out of a tank, driving crazy around town.
