Dealt out a special 4th of July OW3Ning to a moded RSX-S today.
What a great 4th of July I had! Starting out the day by waking up at 11, going to a BBQ, drinking beer, smoking some dank bowls. I them came home, showered, picked up the woman, got some subs and headed for the cliffs by the beach to see 4 different Fireworks displays all across San Diego County. But, the most interesting part happened on the way to the cliffs, not at them.
I was driving along (for the local guys) Interstate 805N towards the 8W merge to go towards the beach, when I get buzzed by 2 cars that are obviously racing each other. I Look over to see a Black 3G Eclipse GT flash some ghae tail light strobes and quickly exit the freeway, followed by a white Acura RSX-S weaving in and out of traffic. After the Eclipse exited the guy slowed down, and then shot past me as he came across 2 lanes to get into the fast lane. At that point my girl friend turned to me and calmly said “Don’t even think about it.”. I couldn’t help but laugh, because she knows me all too well. Anyway, I follow the guy for a few miles @ ~90 MPH or so, trying not to peeve the GF off TOO much. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG] I see that he’s got what appeared to be a “RSX-R” type wing thing, an exhaust with rather large polished tip, rear lower strut brace, suspension lowering, and body kit… For some reason he had also taken off the RSX part of the badge on the right hand side, leaving the "Type S" portion, and had aquired an "Integra" badge which he stuck on the left. I guess hes going for that JDM look, lol. One would also assume he had at least an Intake installed under the hood, if not a bit more. And, of course, some obligatory stickers on the windows. I couldn’t tell you if the body kit was aftermarket, or factory optional, due to the fact that I don’t care about such things, and am not up to speed on them. But, given his most definatly aftermarket wing, and how his rear bumper molded around the unwieldy exhaust tip, Id hedge my bet on aftermarket… but I digress.
Eventually my GF starts nagging me about how fast im driving, right when I notice a black 97+ prelude with a body kit (apparently about to vibrate off of the car) tail gaiting my ***. The freeway, just then, opened up from the traffic. I tell her, Im just going to pass some people real quick, and then slow down (as im already downshifting into 4th). I move 1 lane to the right, and pass up the white Acura. The lude tried to follow, but the RSX cut him off to give chase (he had a car in front of him in the fast lane). At this point the woman is just SLIGHTLY peeved at me, so I move over to the fast lane, and slow back to ~80. “See” I told her. She just rolled her eyes at me. Of course Racer X with his god touched K series pulls next to me just then and revs his engine (on the freeway… at 80MPH mind you). For a second I thought he missed a downshift and screwed his drive-train up, and almost as to back up my thoughts, my GF giggled. At that point, it didn’t really matter what the woman had to say about it. I dropped gear into 4th and waited since he was slowing down again to pace me.
As he revved his engine up yet once again, I let fly when my front bumper was at his door. From 80 to ~115 MPH, I pulled and never stopped. I didn’t put a grip of length on him as I did to the Base, lightly moded RSX I raced, but it was a decent pace. As a matter of fact, my girl friend was looking out the window laughing as I walked past him.
Anyway, after I maxed out in 4th and hitting 5th, I had about 2 lengths on him, so I shut down, making good and sure he saw my tail lights light up as I slowed back to 80 MPH. As I cruised towards my freeway junction, he slowly passed me up, not bothering to make eye contact. My GF described him as a “Chubby Asian guy, with no emission on his face what so ever, he just stared straight ahead”. Lmao.
I then take my off ramp, and im followed by the black lude. The guys pass me up and give a thumbs up as they take off down the freeway, body kit flapping in the wind. I guess the BEST part tho, was the fact that my girl wasn’t pissed and I still got ***** tonight.

Rep Power: 0 I just woke up and read most of it, but all I have to say is you had to have sprayed to beat him(couldnt find it anywhere in the post). I raced my friends Del Sol with B16A3(lighter than the 99-00 Si) w/ AEM CAI, Greddy EVO and Skunk2 Intake Manifold and ate him alive, and Im stock.

Anyway, the old SI seems to be an awesome buy, at stock its bad-*** and when correctly modded, it can be a monster.
I have that down for my next car, but its still rather expensive to get one and actually looking at prices, its roughly the same priced for a used 99 Lude.
